good buy for the price. fast shippng.
Bought for a project. Sounds is okay power is adequate. Bass control is set way too high and treble will cut out at max. (No that you need it that high ever). Lights are crazy annoying. Can we at least make them all one color!? Still for the price you can't beat it. Make it Bluetooth with a USB dongle and get paid.... I'd do it again for the price.

Very Enjoyable MP3 player amplifier combination with remote from Kentiger. May require modification.
The HY-501 is a Stereo BTL 2.8 Watt RMS amplifier (8 Ohms) with tone controls incorporating a USB/SD player, and a 16 LED light show, and is supplied without a power supply. The HY-501 is inverting RCA input to output. The HY-501 amplifier has good performance, is good sounding, and a good tone adjustment range. The bright non-adjustable light show is not related to the music being played. The USB and SD MP3 player has good performance incorporating digital EQ and remembers digital volume and track being played. The remote selects the track to play, the volume, the EQ, and the Mode. The remote does not have a fast forward feature. The FM is good sounding, and automatically presets FM stations which can be selected using the remote to enter a two digit code. The light show must be disconnected for best performance. The Kentiger HY-501 shares the same amplifier PWB as the Kentiger HY-502. This amplifier (recognizable by the three screws on the bottom of the case) is my favorite due to its low frequency response and tone control range which I use to accomplish loudness function for listening to music at low volume levels. For the six MP3 player equalization settings, when the power is turned off or the SD or USB card removed the player reverts to no equalization. The EQ1 setting is a loudness setting attenuating all frequencies except bass. The EQ2 setting cuts the bass only. The EQ3 attenuates the bass and midrange. The EQ4 attenuates all but area around 500 Hz. The EQ5 has a bass boost up to about 250 Hz and causes digital saturation in music recorded at high levels in the bass area. The Bass adjustment range is 25 dB and the Treble adjustment range is 39 dB. Both the Bass and Treble have some effect on the response at 1kHz (6dB with treble, 2 dB with bass). There is about a 1dB mismatch in the BTL amplifier sections. The unit produces 44 watts peak to peak into 4 ohms or 2.8 Watts RMS (average power) into 8 Ohms. The amplifier components are on one PWB using through-hole components. The amplifier incorporates two Mono BTL IC amplifiers. Some flux residue was left on the PWBs due to hand soldering. The MP3 player digital volume control acts on all functions. There was no audible power supply noise. The MP3 player has a low level “popping” noise on the output. The Modification of the MP3 player (to improve the +5V dc power supply filtering) is required to get rid of this noise. The amplifier produces a very slight “pop” through the speakers when turned on or turned off with the power switch. There is no “pop” when using the remote to switch to standby. The standby does not act on the light show. There is no direct tone bypass mode. The front panel is plastic. The amplifier response is excellent (-)0.4dB (17Hz) +2dB (61Hz) over the frequency range with the Bass at 10 (about 11 o’clock) and Treble at 9 (about 11 o’clock).Depending on which 12 Volt power supply you use, you may require an accessory ground to eliminate ground loop “hum”.The channels are reversed on MP3 connector on rear panel.I disconnected the light show to reduce power supply noise and visual distraction. This requires disassembly of the unit and unplugging the light show PWB.
