The WireCutter scale review says of a different scale "and it, too, gives fresh weights (not ones from memory) each time it’s used." The question here is whether this scale give fresh readings or hides measurement uncertainty and the distinction between precision and accuracy behind a lie that gives the impression of consistency. Some pretty expensive scales will give you exactly the same measurement before and after a small bowel movement. If you step back on with a 200g weight, that will be enough to show a new reading, but step back on without the weight and the scale gets confused which lie to tell. I don't know the answer to your question, but clearly the previous response did not understand your question. I will find out, as I'm considering this scale.
