Review from a professional Chef
This is a great multi purpose knife designed and made by a well respected Knife company. I've had it for a few months now and use it pretty much everyday in my kitchen. I'm particularly fond of this knife in a professional kitchen because I have cooks who are lacking in experience. I.E when they have dropped this knife while folded there has been no damage to the blade. Therefore it's a great introductory knife to have around. The blade does become dull rather quickly with extended use compared to my other chefs knifes, and I felt it needed sharpening right out of the box, but is very easy to sharpen, hone, and care for which makes for great training opportunities. After a few months of everyday use parts of the wood handle are starting to fade but other then that it's still in great condition. One of my cooks even bought the distressed linen version of this knife. All in all this knife would make a great gift to the person who loves cooking outdoors, and at home.

Locking mechanism makes this knife dangerous
I actually cant believe someone would want their signature on this knife. I wanted a functional knife for my travel trailer, but one that was less likely to roll around or present a sharp edge to something it wasnt going to cut. Since this was for food prep, I was looking for a folding chefs knife. Not too many to choose from. Was super happy when I saw this, and now super sad. Ive held at least 100 folding knifes with a locking mechanism, and this is by far the worst. The style this uses is a thin (really thin) steel plate that has to be moved laterally to close the blade. All instances of this type ive held in my hand before have a tab that you pull to the side to unlock the knife. This one, you need to use your fingernail, stick it between the blade and slide, and pull it laterally with your nail. Its a terrible version of a good design, and gives me no faith at all in the knife not falling apart at random.2 stars, since othwise it seems attractive, and for this price, might indeed have good steel. If only the design wasnt so dangerous. This would be 4 stars at least if the steel plate was bigger, and there was a tab on it so a finger could displace it.

Better than I expected.
Use this in my camping gear. Worth the extra weight.

Arrived dull
This knife was a waste of money. I tried to use it to slice a small chub of salami and it couldn’t get through without a ton of force, it arrived very dull. While the folding seems clever, the handle size makes the knife very unbalanced. Also there’s a big made in China stamp on the side, I thought I was getting a German manufactured blade.
