Quick and easy to use
Do you get tired of getting out the old 4-sided grater, grating your knuckles and then having to reach up inside of it to clean cheese or whatever from all 4 sides? This handy handheld grater eliminates all those hassles. The handle is sturdy and well made, does not bend or bow during use. There is a slide on cover to protect the grater and your hands when reaching into the utensil drawer.

Very good product.
This product is very sharp and the potatoes and carrots were perfectly shredded. I would recommend this product. It comes with a plastic case cover that I would say to use because of the sharpness. Would buy from this company again.

Still going strong 4 years later
I bought this grater in 2015, and it still performs wonderfully. I use it mainly for grating cheese, and have had no problems with any firmness from Parmesan to fresh mozzarella. In 4 years, it has been used on almost a weekly basis and then thrown in the dishwasher for cleaning. Both the plastic handle and the metal grating surface have held up to that amount of use and show very little sign of wear. If this ever breaks, I will be replacing it with this exact same model, without a doubt.

How did I ever live without this before???
This and the zester also from Microplane are just amazing!!! How I used to struggle with grating cheese and zesting lemons and limes.Just invest in some and see for yourself!

Is this really a Microplane?
Even though it has the Microplane name it is the poorest version I have owned and I have bought and used many Microplane graters. It has the sharpness but has a lot of hidden crevasses where cheese gets in while grating and is almost impossible to clean out. It is also much smaller a grating surface than is obvious from the pictures. Since it wasn't overly expensive and does have a good grate output I can give three stars but I would never buy this model again.

Satisfies The Need For Chunky Shreds
When you only need a little, and don't want to break out the mandolin or the food processor to shred things, this fits the bill. Quick to engage, quick to clean. Great for a little cheese for pasta or chocolate over dessert or carrots for a single salad.
