A plus quality. Particularly for physical therapy, anyone with hyper sensitive skin, etc. It definitely has resistance however I'd characterize it as a functionality piece of equipment rather than muscle building. Regardless, you need both. I'd recommend this hands down. Source: spine surgery, acl reconstruction, thumb ligament reconstruction, cyclops lesion in my knee. I know enough to confidently recommend this. People need to stop leaving useless reviews..they help no one. Thanks for the product. Don't hesitate to purchase People
