Wonderful fun and lesson
Corduroy is like a child trying things out. The pocket represents safety of information needed in case he gets lost ! My little one loves this book.

My son loved this book.
My son wanted me to read this book to him every night before bed. So much so that it was worn out so I ordered a new one and now I’m reading it to his son when we have a sleepover.

Good sequel
Corduroy is a timeless book, and this sequel continues the themes of having adventures and connecting with caring, considerate people. Lucky bear, to learn how kind people can be. For little children, this is a colorful page turner. For older ones, it’s a conversation starter, too.

The final published book by the late, great children's writer/illustrator, Don Freeman, A Pocket for Corduroy is a beautiful story about this highly inquisitive wee teddy bear's sudden desire to have a pocket attached to his overalls whilst he's waiting with his family in the laundrette. He goes off on a short journey in search of fabrics which leads him away from Lisa and her mother, and we see how wonderfully cute Corduroy's journey is from his point of view. This is the kind of story that captures a child's imagination and engages their sense of adventure. Above all else, it is Don Freeman's gift to the world. A fantastic sequel by a wonderful author.

Imaginative story picking up the Corduroy story. Daytime, bedtime, the story captures the imagination of children well. And the pictures.. graphics,, colors,, etc. ideal for readers and listeners of a young age.

The first time I saw this book was in 1997. My then 2 year old daughter and I were really happy to meet Lisa, a young girl who loves her friend Corduroy. It was also nice to read a story with a person of color, someone to identify with. I read this (and another one from the "Corduroy" series) to all 3 of my girls. My daughters are grown now but once in awhile their bedtime stories pop up in conversation. They remember their bedtime stories and the coziness they felt as we read about Lisa's kindness and her love for Corduroy. The winter months we endured many snowstorms and did a lot of reading during the day. Spring/summer weather brought on days of strong winds with rain accompanied by thunder and lightening. This book was always on the top of their reading list day or night. I decided to gather and replace a small collection of books and other items my girls enjoyed as they grew up so they can share them with their own children.

I purchased this book for my nephew and he loves it. My mom read this to me as a kid so it was great to find it here and share it with him as well.
