Was not expecting much for the price but the first appearance is that it feels study and comfortable on the feet. The surface doesn't feel too hard or soft and can be easily cleaned. It does move a little but is a good replacement for the previous memory foam mat which had gone flat.Cannot say too much about it longevity as we have only been using it for a few days so will update the review after a couple of months of usage.

This has a better anti-slip on the UPPER surface than one i've used previous to this. We have it on smooth porcelain tiles, providing the tiles are not wet or damp from being mopped, this mat does not slip from the underside at all.The upper surface is textured plastic, so even with barefeet or whilst wearing only socks, I am able to gain a finite level of traction. Not 100%, but good with rubberised-sole shoes, less so without.I would have preferred a carpeted upper - just like a fabric floor mat/rug, that way I have the benefit of the mat complimenting the room in a softer less industrial-looking finish and it would provide a lot more anti-slip capability and warmth to the familys' bare feet.Also, if I was purchasing this for an older user, i would be more drawn to a fabric upper rug-like anti-fatigue mat that I know would be safer with weaker joints, especially if this mat was to get wet on the upper!The rug is made entirely of a plastic exterior and a foam spongy interior, as such, when new it smells heavily of the manufacturing process. It's not necessarily unpleasant, it just depends on your threshold for the scent. It certainly makes the pets' "sleeping quarters" smell more pleasant!4 stars

We placed this in the kitchen as we spend much time preparing food while standing. This anti-fatigue mat really makes a difference and we can testify to that.As a sufferer of a long lasting herniated disc, I always feel numbness when I stand for long. With this mat though I can manage to stand comfortably without feeling any discomfort. The well-padded base adds a layer of comfort.The surface is not slippery. The mat itself is very thick and sturdy. It really feels reliable and well-made. The brown colour is good, goes well with our kitchen though I would have preferred a grey one.Just note that when this is on the floor next to the cupboard I cannot put my bar stool on top of it. I usually like sitting when I spend much time preparing dishes, so in order to use the chair I end up moving this around which is a tiny hassle, especially if you have a small kitchen.All in all, happy and satisfied.

Have spent several weeks using this with my stand-up desk, rather than just standing on the carpeted office floor. It has made a bit of difference in that my feet don't hurt so much, but that's about it, and what I would expect from standing on a more flexible surface. While it has had this small benefit, I was expecting much more.
