Me and my partner have very different levels of temperature comfort for sleeping. I like it 'nordic', he likes it 'tropical'. Depending on the time of year he would pile on one or two extra blankets.We've been using this duel duvet for over a week now, and we are both thrilled with it. The duvet filling has plenty of loft and is light as a cloud on both sides, and delivers the perfect amount of warmth for each of us. Our sleep is deeper and more restful as there is no need for 'blanket adjustment', waking him, and by extension me, up overnight.Straight out of the plastic packaging there was no discernable smell, although we left it to lie flat for several hours before putting it into a duvet cover. The outer fabric is a thin, tight weave and feels silky to the touch. All the seams were sewed straight and finished off - no hanging threads.Frankly, I am astonished that a humble duvet can make such a difference to our rest. Excellent value for money and my best buy so far this year.

Bought this as partner is too hot at night & I'm too cold! This duvet is fab. Lightweight, warm and good value. Lost one star thought as the division between the 10.5 & 4.5 sides is not in the middle. The 4.5 side is about 6" narrower. This may be to do with the thickness and certainly doesn't bother us but looks strange.

Perfect solution for couples who like very different temperatures at night.Doesn't look unbalanced in cover either so very happy with product.

My hubby is always hot at night and needs a lighter quilt whereas I'm quite happy with a 10.5 all year round with the exception of those very few nights in our great British summer. This is my second purchase of one of these quilts and both of us are very happy with the warmth it gives us.The quilt has a good quality cotton cover so washes well.

Exactly what we needed to keep us both comfortable. I stay just about cool enough in winter and my girlfriend is warm enough. If you feel too warm on the thinner section I recommend switching to a cotton duvet cover for some more breathability, if you haven't already.

This is a fantastic product as my husband feels the cold and I don't. So this 50/50 quilt works for us. The 10.5 tog is his side and the 4.5 tog is my side.It's a winner.
