Good purchase!
Removed the tick with its head! I'll update again if I get to use the "pet" side that looks like a fork. Very happy with this purchase. Now I can get these nasties off so much easier and safer.

Keep these in all my cars and medical packs.
I have purchased a number of these throughout the years and had to purchase another one of these for my daughters dorm room. We keep these in all the cars and of course in our house. Have had to use a good handful of times on our dog and it has always worked great. I have some of the other plastic tick remover tools but have never used them. I like the feel of this one, the length of it, and how sturdy it is so every time I have to remove a tick this is the one I go for - not quite sure why I haven't thrown the other ones out! Great quality tool and I highly recommend getting one for yourself and also get one for your have kids at college if they go anywhere there are ticks (which sadly seems to be everywhere these days).

Works on people and pets
We recently moved out in the country on a lot surrounded by woods. I bought this hoping to never have to use it - but have already used it on 3-4 occasions in a short time :-/It works well for my dog, she has had a few ticks that appear near her ears. She kind of looks like a deer (red doberman) and seems to attract the deer ticks. By the way, you are supposed to use the non-sharp non-tweezer end on pets - I saw a review where someone "cut their dog" prior to ordering but that wouldn't have happened if they followed the directions on the package.Tonight after doing yard work all day I sat down to relax and felt a bug on my side and it wouldn't flick off - ewwww! - it was a darn tick! I was home alone and it was about 6 inches below my armpit and more towards my back than chest. I got the thing off - all of it - on just my second attempt since it was in a tough spot. I used the non sharp edge (not the tweezers) on myself too. Glad I had this thing handy and was able to get it off quickly. If you live in a wooded area or frequent areas where ticks are common - I'd definitely recommend this!

Good Tool That Is Impractical To Carry Afield.
These tweezers are well made and I'm sure they will get the job of tick removal done. The "Pet" end of the tool is a bit narrow for regular dog ticks though. It would work well on the small deer tick however. The "People" end of the tool has a sharp point and long narrow nose tweezers that is sure to get the blood suckers off your skin. It is difficult to carry these in the field and other products that attach to a key chain maybe more readily available for that purpose. These are better suited to live in a first aid kit or emergency kit for home or car use.

SUPER GREAT PRODUCT
SUPER GREAT PRODUCT. I bought two, one for home and one for work. I've used both. Really easy to use for someone who has never had to remove ticks before, especially on herself. I've been able to reach places I didn't think I'd be able to. Plus, its so much easier to grab hold than other tweezers I tried previously. I'm super grossed out by ticks and for anyone in that boat, who happens to live in tick areas... I would say grab two. And some alcohol. Some index cards, tape and a sharpie. This kit comes with instructions on how to mail in your tick to be tested. It's 50$ to do so, and I've already been bitten like 8 times so I'm definitely not going to pay to have that done every time, but I'm saving the ticks with the date on the index card (tape the tick to the card and note the date and the location on the body) so later if you get a rash or feel fluish you'll know which one to send in to be tested. Also good to have a pouch to put all that in.
