This is so full of information. Easy to read and small sections so you can read it anytime

Lots of fun, old time facts and tips still useful today. Gave me great breakfast reading every day for a while. I continue to refer to it. Good tips regarding planting, seed purchases and seed companies, old time remedies and good methods of eating and preserving your food. Very enjoyable purchase. My grandfather always told me to learn or do something new every day. With this fun item you can cross off learning something new right at breakfast time, and enough good ideas to have you doing something new for a long time. Wish it were longer with some old time storytelling

So much amazing info written short and sweet with a dash of humour...definitely a keeper and I keep it on hand to whip out for all manner of things...thrilled to own this book...with thanks

I pride myself on being a farm boy and knowing quite a bit of the old school lore but this book even surprised me with information that I had never heard or had forgotten.Very much worth the few dollars it cost. The Mother Earth News books seem to all be very well written with numerous tips and information. Even the cookbook portions look as though they would taste great (Old cook, so taste good in my head)

I got my marvelous book yesterday. I scanned it & found several hints I realy love. I work in my yard with wild roses & blackberry vines everywhere. I got a splinter in my index finger Monday, but I am the world's worsst sissy about having a splinter removed with a needles & the edge of my finger is so senstive I was holding out for a miracle, ha ha. The book gave me a great hint for softening the skin so my husband did remove it with just a pair of tweezers. So it has paid for itself & then some. Thanks so much for this book!!!

This book was exactly what I was looking for. I love the little anecdotal pieces throughout. I think the one thing I love most about this book is there is no "fluff" just facts. Each page I turned I learned something new. I wish their website and magazines had this type of information. This will remain in my arsenal of farming books.

Read Mother Earth News critically. Every edition has something of value and, unfortunately, some things that, in my opinion, are wishful thinking. I have used much of their information for many projects since the early seventies when they published right down the road and I could argue with the authors and editors at their experimental farm. Excellent alternative living reference, usually ahead of their time. Not for everyone,

Just great. I went looking for old fashioned wisdom and found so much more. Things I'd observed and had wondered about finally had explanations. It turned out I wasn't misunderstanding something, just lacking the explanation to understand why.Not all is 'scientific' knowledge, but then sometimes it doesn't need to be, it just needs to be interesting, make you wonder and maybe a little fun also.

Nice Almanac but less useful to me than I expected. Shipped quickly and packed very well.
