I ordered this to replace the Optima Bluetop deep cycle marine battery I was using with an inverter after they were both destroyed in a fire. This Banshee deep cycle battery is quite a bit cheaper than the Optima and so far it is performing as well as the Optima and I've been very happy. Only time will tell if it has the same longevity as the well respected Optimas.The Banshee is no lightweight; weighing in at 56 pounds. Be careful with the built-in plastic handles as they seem undersized for such a heavy battery and other reviewers have mentioned they broke. I've been careful with mine and so far they're ok.

This battery is heavy, so be careful when lifting. The plastic handles on the top don’t seem strong enough to hold the weight. It is a good battery overall. I used it to replace my old RV battery, and it performs just as well as the previous one. I see no difference between this and a more expensive name brand battery.

I’ve been looking at Optima batteries as a replacement for my old lead acid marine battery in my VW AdventureWagon. After researching and reading many glowing reviews of Banshee batteries I decided to go that route and save some significant $$. It doesn’t disappoint. It’s a very heavy, fully sealed battery that can be installed in almost any position. So far it’s doing everything I need as a house battery in my van. I expect it will last significantly longer and give better service than my old battery. If any issues should arise I will update this review. At this point, it seems a good alternative to Optima when money is an issue.Full Disclosure: I acquired this as a Vine user. This is a great little battery. It works as it should and is easy to install.

Caution: this battery feels 2x as heavy as my other big box store Marine batteries. The battery enclosure could use additional re-enforcement, as the battery cells are ”squatting” and slightly bulging the sides. I’m not sure if this comes from the manufacturer this way or if it’s a condition of how it ships. When unboxing the handle broke as you are blindly pulling on handles to remove from packaging, but the handles are keyed and snap if you’re unfamiliar of how they unlock.Time will tell on battery durability and whether the squatted cells will effect battery performance.

This marine style battery is very solid. It is built to be able to withstand multiple battery, drains and recharged. It has maintained a perfect even keel since I have had it and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. These batteries are so much better than your regular style bat, and if you are a person who tends to leave a light on or forget to crank your engine while using your auxiliary in your vehicle, this would be a battery you might want to get

Perfect for our ski boat, when it arrived I put it on the battery charger but it didn’t need it.Good battery

i charged this battery up to the max after delivery, and after sitting overnight the voltage held at 13.1V. Considering the average resting voltage is around 12.8, i would say this is pretty good. i will hook this up in my barn for extra solar power and update when i get some use out of this guy.
