Everything the AI Prime 16HD is not
I started out with the AI Prime 16hd for my Innovative Marine 30L AIO. Seemed like the go-to light for this type of application other than Amazon Chinese stuff which can be a mixed bag.I came across these new Current lights on Amazon and they sounded good on paper and I thought I’d try them out. Basically they’re great lights and everything the AI are not:- Quiet (almost totally silent)- Better color mixing with much less disco- Easy and intuitive Loop App controller- Legit moonlight option that looks natural (AI says it has moonlight, they do not)- Sturdy construction with beefy heat sink and large fanIf anyone is in the market for a nano light, I’d definitely recommend these.

Poor performer for the price
I watched Reef Dudes stream regarding the Current USA Orbit R24 Reef LED, and I thought I’d check it out. This is a single puck 50W suggesting 20”X20” with “fragtastic color.” It cost me $292.50 to the house from Amazon.I’ll just get to the point…at the settings noted, this light pulls 44W, the spectrum is adequate, the PAR is woefully low, and the spread is 68%. With an average PAR of only 45, this light comes in at a blistering $6.50/average PAR. Compare that to the $400 ReeFi Uno at $3.03/average PAR and the $140 SmatFarm 90W at $1.60/average PAR. Additionally, both the Uno and SmatFarm offer substantially better performance. The aluminum body R24 does ship with a tank temperature probe, but that doesn’t add much value. Given that this light is double the performance of the Hipargero AquaKnight, pricing the R24 at $130 would make it more compelling; but the competition at that price point is strong.I don’t get this light, but here’s the data.

Not for me
I did not like satellite as far as Shimmer Plus it just didn't fit right in my tank

Great Light
Overall the light is great. However the Bluetooth app has a huge downfall is that it doesn’t have an auto feed mode. If I have to leave for a couple days it doesn’t have the option to have feed mode turn on at a certain time.

Nice Quality
I have only had this new light a few days, but I can tell this is pretty good quality. The way it lights up my tank is amazing and much better than this company's other lights. I got this for its higher PAR to grow more kinds of coral, so well see how it does over time I might update this review.

Snagged the 95 watt for $165! Fantastic value!
I bought the 95 watt version of this light around Black Friday at Saltwateraquarium's website for $165. I also have the AI Prime 16HD and it only has 59 watts and doesn't have as good of shimmer as the Orbit R24. It's also silent and has really cool weather simulating settings. I dislike the app and temp sensor, however, as both freeze up often but if you set it and forget it then its not a problem. I think I'm using this light as my primary and the AI Prime 16HD will go on standby as backup for either of my 2 tanks (32 gal and 15 gal). I'm only mad that I didn't buy 2 of these lights when it was 50% off cause it's now sold out. Also, I would not pay full price ($300-$375) on this light because at that price point you can buy a Radion XR15 and it will have 110 watts and you will have a premium, industry standard fixture that all the coral farms and shops use. If CurrentUSA wants a share of the lighting pie then it will have to sell these lights for much less than Radion and slightly less than AI lights; at least until it has a sufficient customer/fan base and has a proven track record of delivering performance. Just my 2 cents on that.

Impressed so far
I currently only own soft corals so it might not be a perfect review. The 2 UV light cleared up my algae problem. Seeing a lot of growth in my softies. Coralline is recovering from the last light Damage. This light is not great compared to the ai prime. I’ve lost two candy cane and a stylophora due to lack of light. Softies are fine and a green bubble tip is not even growing. Don’t waste your money stick with ai prime.
