Eye Cup for CANON Eyecup cups A-1 AE-1 AE1 Program New

The first one I bought has been excellent. It seems to be a newer piece and is actually able to collapse in on itself. It works great for both my Canon Ftb as well as my Canon AE1. If this review was just for it, then it would be 5 stars.The second one I bought has not provided the same experience. It still fits both cameras excellently, but it is made out of an older and more stiff rubber. I think this might mean it is an original part that has been resold? Not certain. It doesn't collapse like the first one did, which isn't a big deal, and it still works fairly well as an eyecup. Unfortunately, it has started cracking after only a short period of use(received at the end of February) which is quite disappointing. I'm not sure if I am just particularly abusive or if the product just had some issues with it.I am ordering a third in hopes of getting a replacement like the first one. If it is like that one I will keep it and consider upping to 4 stars. Otherwise, I will likely return it.Just to be clear, both variants of the eyecups work well and fit great. They both match well with the item described by the product listing. It's a bit odd that there isn't a clear way to know which one you will get, but in general, the products are good. I have tried other eyecups and haven't found any that do as good of a job at fitting the camera, staying on, while remaining no fuss. If you are considering a purchase, I think they are well worth a shot.Edit: upped to 4 stars as the new one is made out of the more durable and more flexible rubber if the first one I ordered.

I ordered two and fit to both a Canon FTb and AE-1. Does well at sealing light out from that annoying peripheral angle that tends to make the viewfinder next to useless, even if it creates the perfect light for your shot.

Item received on time and as described. It fits perfectly to my Canon A-1 film camera.

Perfect fit for my canon a-1 camera that did not have an eyecup when I purchased it used.

The product will not mount to the camera. Their is no groove to fit the standard mount on the AE-1. The rubber closest to the view finder bleeds over and into the viewfinder…. The actual cup that would be pressed against the face looks used or moldy.For $9 this is absolute trash, a 9 year old could 3d print me something better
