Brookstone Educational Globe for Kids Relief Topographic World Globe with Raised Landscape

Actually really appreciate the study box. We take this back and forth to a class we teach once a week and it has held up very well. We were hoping it would have the underwater ridges but the description didn't list it so not their fault.

This globe is so fascinating to look at and touch because of the relief-features, and I want to love it and give it a great review, however the first thing you notice when you pull the globe out of the box is all the paint that's rubbed off in places! Even low-altitude places like the ocean! I don't understand why it's so damaged because it seems to be well-packaged. I was going to return it right away and ask for an exchange, however another customer put up pictures of their globe that was also damaged before it came out of the box and their globe looked more damaged than mine, so I'm worried that if I exchange mine I might get one that's even more damaged!I like the dark green paint color used for much of the landforms because it makes the globe seem more realistic, however the shade is so dark that it makes it hard to read the black print. (the camera I used to take the pictures automatically brightened the paint color for North America-- in person it's much darker)

Sadly, this product was damaged when I got it although I didn’t recognize it immediately. The topographical feature is super cool and what made us buy it but it also makes it subject to the picture wearing off on the “high” areas. My silly brain initially thought they were snowcapped mountains but it turned out it was the picture being rubbed off. I don’t think this globe will last very long because of the delicate nature of the actual graphic.

The ink or paint coloring the globe is falling off. There are typos. Sticker on globe as a label.

We bought this for our four-year-old, who had started asking questions like “How deep is the ocean?”, “Where was my (insert nationality) friend born?” and “Why are the sun and moon sometimes out at the same time?” This globe does it all. I love that it’s topographical and even shows the ocean depths. It makes it easier to understand earth as a planet than a smooth globe or one with just political boundaries. We get out flashlights and balls to explain the sun, moon and solar system. This globe feels nice and solid, too.
