UPDATE after using this for over a month. We are really pleased with this topper. I can actually say it does help with our back and hip aches. The firmness seems to be just right. The straps work great for holding it in place. The cover seems to secure my fitted sheet in place better as well so it doesn't wrinkle as much. It was a good purchase!Little firmer than expected but by the second nite we both adjusted well to it. Fits our bed perfectly. Straps hold it in place just fine. Very little if any odor after opening the packaging. Packaged very well. Easy to open and layout. It expanded relatively quick. We did however, let it sit for 24 hours. I think it will meet our needs just fine

I've had the topper 5 days now and I really like it. I came out of the box like a big sausage and had a cutter included that made it easy to open without risk of cutting the toper itself. You take the outer wrapper off, unroll and unfold it. It's vacuum packed it a big plastic bag. I cut the bottom of the bag off and pulled it out. I put it on my mattress and within a couple hours it had expanded to a little over 3 1/2 inches thick. It had a noticeable smell to it so I turned on a celling fan and left it for about 6 hours before I made my bed. I slept on it the first night and should have paid more attention to the instructions. The say to let it set 2 or 3 days before first use to let the smell dissipate. I pulled the covers and mattress pad off the second day and left the ceiling fan again all day. I slept on it the second night and noticed a little smell but it was not near as strong. After the third night I didn't notice any smell. I ordered the 4 inch topper. My neck is fused in two places, I've had several back surgeries and a hip replaced all of it due to arthritis. I bought an air number bed without any foam or pillow topping years ago so I could make it very firm. It worked fine to begin with but now my hips and shoulders are more sensitive and need a topper (I'm side sleeper.) I've tried 4 inch toppers from Costco but they were too soft and I had to take them back. I used a 1.5 in topper for a few years but lately it has not been enough. I thought I would give this 4 in topper a try because it had two grades of foam in it. This topper has worked very well for me. It's firmer than other toppers I've tried. It provides plenty of give for my shoulders and hips but the stiffer second layer supports my hips enough to keep my spine in line. I've increased the air pressure in the mattress so its very firm now so I get great back support from the mattress and the topper allows me to sleep comfortably on my side. Before this topper I was waking up every hour or so to switch sides because shoulder pain would wake me up. With this topper I can sleep through the night with out tossing and turning and wake up without sore shoulders or neck pain.

I really appreciated the packaging and tool that it came oh. Definitely made it easier to open. It didn’t take long for it to rise once out of the bag. It has been two weeks since I purchased it and seems to have made my bed more comfortable. Originally I purchased a mattress that was way too firm. This has made it just right! The air holes have also made it very cool to lay on. I definitely recommend it for the cost and quality.

I was very happy with this product. The firmest is great. It feels great to my back.

Well this thing is huge haha. It hangs over a bit but once I put the sheets on it’s not too noticeable. It expanded the full 3 inches within hours which I’m glad it did because I was so excited to sleep on it that night. I used the firm supportive side and I really like it. It’s not hard at all. It’s supportive just like described. You still feel like your sleeping on foam because you do still get that squish, but you don’t sink or get stuck. It’s perfect to me. Just what I wanted and needed to help my dipping too soft mattress. Only wish it had a cover to go with but for now it’s great.UPDATE:I have been thoroughly enjoying this topper. As I mentioned in my previous review I’ve been sleeping on the supportive side. My sleep has improved so much and no more achy back and hips when I get up everyday. This has been such a great purchase for me. About to order my son one. I have shared this with all my close friends and family and told them to purchase. I really love how it’s helped my old mattress.

This is a well made product and I’m sad I don’t like it much. It is VERY firm and unless I need to give it another week to “break it in” it will probably be stuck in a closet. Also, it is for a queen but it sticks at least two inches off of the side of my queen mattress and putting sheets on is hard. I really want to love it, and I love the quality and price, but my body isn’t a fan.

I bought three full size 3inch firm bedstory mattress toppers.If you're looking for a topper that has support, isn't plush, or one that will extend the life of your mattress, I recommend this one! It's firm, but will also softnen a too hard mattress.There's a video a girl posted on the reviews that gives a great description of this product.I put one on each of my sons beds and gave one to my mom, so I ordered a fourth!Packaged very well and easy to open using the little cutting tool that comes along with the product. (Similar to the little cutters you use to cut Christmas wrapping paper)It does have a chemical smell, but that's typical with foam toppers.Spray febreeze all over it and run a fan so it dries as it expands.It expands pretty quickly, but let it sit open for at least 24hours!Overall great buy and better than just a foam mattress you'd get a target or walmart.Happy sleeping, y'all!
