Ready to put on.the floor in ten.minutes. Sturdy wide base covered with fabric and both sections of the pole itself was tightly covered with sisal. It's not huge, but almost 3 feet tall. Our youngest cat was right there as I put it together and once I decided where to place it she raced up the side and perched on the narrow top batting one of the 3 attached balls. Her mom, a chunky cat, didn't climb but happily stood up to scratch the sisal. A bit of catnip was included which both cats loved. So maybe couch and chairs a few feet away will not get the scratches this scratching post will get. It replaced one of those tight compressed cardboard scratching pads which both cats also loved, but in two weeks flecks of cardboard were everywhere. So this purchase is a great improvement at a modest price. Since the pole is made of two pieces it seems possible to just use one piece for a shorter scratching post for less agile cats and for kittens. Because they were inexpensive I plan to buy two others to place in other rooms And since I already have a tall cat tree covered in sisal I know it takes a whole lot of scratching to work through a sisal covered pole or tree. So me and the cats are all happy. What a deal! And it is fun to watch them play and scratch.

This is a great option to put next to a couch or chair for kitties that like to claw at furniture. We just got a new living room set and our cats want to scratch. We got one of these and want to order more. They like the self scratching brush that hooks on it also. Very sturdy and easy to put together. Great item for price!

GG loves her post! She can stretch and scratch with ease. I bough the taller one also bc she’s grown so fast the short one is too short for her now. The ball on the string is her favorite part! The base material is SO SOFT! The color is perfect. It’s incredibly sturdy! It keeps her busy between the spring on the bottom and the ball and string on top.

I needed a portable, easy-to-assemble cat scratching post for my adult cat to stretch and scratch in guest quarters while traveling At a height of 34", this is exactly what I needed for a 12lb adult cat.Along with other reviewers, the base isn't as stable or sturdy as I would want for a permanent cat scratcher. However, the ability to quickly assemble, disassemble, and then stow it in a very small box outweighed the flimsy base construction. It's good enough and will probably work for a very long time. If and when I ever choose to leave it fully assembled I will simply replace the base or gorilla glue a second platform over the original one.I knocked off 1 star because the folding base could have been constructed out of a sturdier material. Otherwise, the function and design of this cat scratcher are excellent.

Product came nicely packed & delivered (in the 1st picture I already opened it at the top). The bottom board folds in half which is nice if you ever need to disassemble it and store it compactly. The scratch post was very easy to put together, I just followed the picture instructions. Took me maybe 5 minutes to assemble it. When I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised with some additional things I wasn't expecting to receive. In the pics you can see I got a nice brush that can velcro-wrap around posts and a little bag of what I assume to be catnip. I am very happy with this scratch post so far, and I believe my cat will hopefully love it too. I got this to deter my cat from scratching & ruining our chairs. Once I put the scratch post together, she already started scratching the post when I swung the top furball (as you can see in the last picture). So, I'm hoping that's a good sign that she'll use that instead of the chairs.

My cats love it but when they scratch on it they pull it over. Needs some weight to it

This will take care of your cats scratching needs.... Small or large... It works... It's pretty sturdy, and small enough to move around, or even travel with, if you have to take your fur baby!! Highly recommend...and I got it for a good price!!

I bought this to replace a previous similar sisal scratching post that my cat shredded after a year's use. I have a large, strong cat & even though the base of this post (& the previous one) is broader than average, there is no way it could withstand use by my cat without reinforcement. In my case, I attached strong double-sided carpet tape to the bottom of the base & literally attached it to my wood floor. Without the reinforcement, the post would immediately be knocked over. Any large adult cat could easily pull it over. Otherwise, it serves its purpose. The sisal shreds over time & will have to be replaced.

This is a pretty large sturdy cat post. I have 3 active cats....they all LOVE this tree.I've had two of them at the same time on the pole itself (18lbs) and wresting on it...no tipping at all. This thing is just awesome. Great bang for buck.Also, carpet doesn't shed...I appreciate that I don't need to clean that up too.

I have 2 cats that are litter mates. Both female. one of them loves this and uses it frequently. The other has no interest in it at all and runs off if I put her on it.

THIS ITEM ( CAT TOWER ) WAS AND IS ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD AT ALL. IT ONLY LASTED APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH. THE STRING OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT ATTACHED TO THE POLE VERY SECURELY AND IT HAS BEEN UNRAVELING FOR SOME TIME NOW AMD IN LARGE PIECES WHICH I KNOW MY CAT DID NOT BITE THESE VERY LARGE POECES OFF THE POLE. I ONLY REALIZED THIS AFTER I HAVE THROWN OUT SEVERAL LARGE PEICES THAT HAVE CAME OFF THE POLE. I HAVE HAD OTHER CAT TOWERS THAT HAVE LASTED FOR MONTHS WITHOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS EVER HAPPENING. THIS CAT TOWER IS TOTALLY USELESS AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS AS IT WILL NOT LAST AND YOUR MONEY HAS BEEN THROWN OIT THE WINDOW. THIS ITEM WAS DELIVERED TO ME MARCH/04/2024 AND OT HAS BEEN FALLING APART FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS. I ACTUALLY WOULD LIKE A REFUND FOR THIS

Our cats like it and use it daily the sisal is starting to wear.
