Drop the reference to halloween
I loved this series. I also loved the way the Walkers (who were my absolute favourite) were intermingled. so sad it has come to the end. I love the way the author brings the gospel into her books and how prayer and faith turns things around. What I really don't like and cannot understand why Halloween is mentioned in a lot of the Author's books and in this one reference to the characters dressing up as witches. It is disappointing and sends out conflicting messages. Halloween for Christians should not be tolerated and should not have a place in a Christian Novel.

fantastic read
I have read all of the books and I haven’t been able to put them down. I’ve felt very emotional in every book so keep a box of tissues at the ready.

This was a great series and a real tearjerker at times, but I really loved them. Will definitely read more by this author, these were the first of hers I have read.

Sad to end
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. The family from Coral canyon are all heading to Gray’s farm for Christmas this year. Ames is already staying with Gray and helping out on the farm since he quit his job as a cop months earlier. After his job offer fell through after Christmas Ames decides to make the move to Three Rivers anyway and gets work on Jeremiahs Walkers farm. He’s hanging cabinets daydreaming when he puts a nail through his thumb. Blindly he gets to the shop and to first aid supplies before he passes out and sees Sophia in front of him. Luckily for him it is actually Sophia and she rushes him to the hospital. She is going to be Marcy Walkers nanny when they stay in Coral Canyon and has been getting to know the children before they all go. Ames is very conflicted, he doesn’t know the right thing to do and is battling some insecurities for his future. He really wants to try again with Sophia but he doesn’t feel he can until he finds who he is and what he is going to do in his life. These Hammond brothers have been a handful. Did anyone else loose track of all the children they had. I am definitely sad to say goodbye to these handsome billionaires.Omg I’m thrilled that we get to head back to Three Rivers for the next series, I can’t wait!

She never wanted to kiss anyone else
Ames and Sophia may have chemistry but has their stubbornness doomed the relationship before it starts? She is adamant she isn't going to be another woman to fall for a Hammond brother, he has sworn he will never move to Coral Canyon, she will never leave Coral Canyon. Are these insurmountable odds? Should they give up before they begin. Both are lost, unsure where their future lies, can they trust their faith to guide them past their preconceived ideas to find happiness? The final book of the series, we will be sad to say goodbye to the Hammond Brothers. I was sent an ARC of this book, all views and opinions here are my own.

A good end to the series from Liz.
Ames and Sophia met when he was in Coral Canyon for a few months. He'd left his job as he felt that he shouldn't be there, and with all his brothers in relationships he was lost and alone. Sophia was a military child so when she found her place in Coral Canyon she didn't want to leave. Ames was determined not to live there, so they reached an impasse and he left. Later he meets her in Three Rivers and she ends up taking him to the hospital. Things progress but not smoothly! Liz always puts bumps in the road in her stories!

Brilliant
Lovely end to this brilliant series. Ames is feeling lost and unsure which direction his life should take and Sophia is reluctant to leave Coral Canyon which leads to difficulties in their relationship. However a bit of separation and soul searching together with lots of (mostly) unsolicited advice from the Hammond brothers and their wives helps get them sorted. I love all of the Whiskey Mountain Lodge books.I received an ARC copy of this book but voluntarily leave this review.

Struggling to Find Common Ground Could Stop True Love
This is book five of the Hammond Brothers: Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge series and this book concentrates on the life of Ames Hammond. He is a little bit lost, after giving up his job as a cop some months beforehand, without telling any of his brothers, not even his twin Cy. He had been seeing a woman called Sophia for a few weeks over the Christmas period, but neither of them were willing to relocate to the others state and were both settled and had reasons to stay where they were. He said he would keep in touch when they split up, but he never did, believing it pointless to do so. He likes routine and organization, which made him love being a cop, but he was working to many hours and nobody wanted to date a cop! He feels he is a failure, wasting away his two billion dollar inheritance, as he hasn’t found his true calling and something to spend this money on, unlike all of his brothers. It doesn’t help that his twin is getting married and now he will be the last unmarried one of all the brothers! After breaking the news to his family that he had left his job months before, he left the brother he was living with and helping out on his ranch, to go and live in a completely different state, where the Hammond name was unknown, and working part time as a simple cowboy on a ranch. He bought an old house and was midway through doing a complete renovation on it, when he accidently nailed his thumb to his new kitchen units! Finding he didn’t have any proper medical supplies, he had to drive off to the centre of Three Rivers, to find some. With one thumb wrapped in a towel, he is finding it difficult to pick up and hold any items he needs and ends up dropping them all when he is surprised by the sight of the last person he would ever have expected to see, Sophia! She is in Three Rivers to be a nanny to Marcy and Wyatt Walker’s children and help them with their move to Coral Canyon. She will then be a nanny to them for the summer, whilst still working at the lodge and is enjoying the change in her life. She is hurt and annoyed that he has bought a home in a different state, after making so much of his refusal to move from where he was. But, she also realises that she still has feelings for him, as he does for her. But Ames has a serious problem with showing any sort of emotion or even feeling anything like any other person. In that, he is quite like his young nephew Hunter, who after a childhood trauma, started therapy when he wasn’t sure if he liked kissing a girl or not. Don’t worry, he has found out that he does! Ames doesn’t like to say he will do anything, unless he is positive that he will do it, he doesn’t do maybes. This makes what happens next, as they try to see if they might still have a chance together, extremely difficult and almost impossible. Their previous relationship ended up in an impasse, with neither willing to accommodate the wishes of the other. Whether this happenstance meeting between these two will go anywhere this time round, will depend on a lot of factors and a willingness to accommodate changes. Finally discovering what he wants to use his inheritance for, will bring Ames some satisfaction, but he still wants love, marriage and children, which he can’t do alone. Another great story in this series. If you have read any of the other books, you know the characters well and have already heard parts of the story from others. What you get this time, is the actual full story of the Ames and Sophia, and all the hurdles they have to overcome, if they are ever to have a life together in the end. A quick read, even if over three hundred pages, as you are swept away into the storyline and love story. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
