Fabulous sequel: a well-written and well-plotted, erotic romance set in London.
True Colours starts the following day after the traumatic events at the end of book one, You Don’t Know Me. Maya had discovered Dan’s true identity. She was devastated because he had lied to her about his real parents and she believed he had an ulterior motive for having a relationship with her.The events in book one take place over three weeks, so although Maya and Dan’s story is fascinating because they absorb the reader and drag you into their intense love story, there is still a great deal we don’t know about them. They’re getting to know each other and we’re getting to know the characters too. They both have issues and Dan has plenty of secrets, some of which he gradually tells Maya, and others she finds out by herself, or is told by a third person, straining their volatile relationship. Although Maya is the narrator, there seem to be many things we don’t know about her either, yet.I liked the way they coped with their personal problems as a couple, and I thought the way Dan addressed and dealt with the differences between hardcore BDSM and kink was enlightening. He’s been there done it, and when Maya tries to dabble he wants her to look further into herself instead of using it as a blocking mechanism. There’s also plenty of humour in the novel. Dan and Maya both have a great sense of humour, which comes across in their dialogues. There’s also some traditional slapstick humour involving (poor) Beefy, her unsuspecting bodyguard. The shopping spree in Harrods with Maya’s best friend Lucy and a bottle of champagne is hilarious.Another fabulous aspect of the novel is the setting. Opening lines: 'Southwark is darkening. Clouds thicken. The waters of the Thames deepen in colour: charcoal grey, indigo, raw umber, olive green, black.' You'll feel you're there as you read Maya and Dan's story.I love the twists and turns as we gradually discover who Dan is. There’s also a psychopath ex-boyfriend pursuing Maya, who will cause havoc in their lives, right to the last page, and into book 3. The end is unexpected and shocking, and although it’s not exactly a cliffhanger, it opens up a great story for book 3.I enjoyed reading True Colours as much as I enjoyed ‘You Don’t Know Me’ right from page one. The characters are absorbing, it is a well-written, well-plotted, fun and enjoyable, romantic read, and I’m impatiently looking forward to book 3.

Wow × 2
This book picks up exactly where the first in the series leaves off. There's barely any back story so I'm not sure it would stand alone without leaving the reader pretty lost. The leading and supporting characters develop more. The villian gets more, well, villainous. The leads, Dan & Maya, become better people, as we learn more about each of them personally. This book ends in a cliffhanger, which I hate, but I wanted to know the rest of the story so I once again did something I rarely ever do and bought book 3! The story line is intriguing if a bit chaotic at times but all in all a great read...just not as a stand alone. Only 4 stars due to the amount of bdsm. Just not my thing.

An absolutely fantastic read!
True Colors is the second book of the You Don’t Know Me trilogy by Mandy Lee. I give this book five out of five stars. I would give it a higher rating if Amazon and Goodreads allowed that. It is a magnificent continuation of Dan and Maya’s story.Book one ends with a shocking revelation that creates a huge rift between Dan and Maya. Book two begins immediately after the revelation. Dan and Maya struggle to come to terms with the incident. Dan is desperate to regain Maya’s trust and repair the relationship. As always with this series, the characters are human and believable. There is a great deal of effort spent in describing the connection of relationships. The story moves along at a nice pace and does not bog down. I found myself cheering for Dan even though he can be a bit of an ass at times. If you decide to purchase book one of the trilogy, I recommend you purchase all three at once. The story will pull you in and leave you wanting more.Mandy Lee, if you’re out there, just know I’m your biggest fan!

Omg
Omg this series is great. As the plot thickens I can't stop reading. I find myself laughing out loud at the humor only the British can deliver. I like this author another and plan to read more from her.

5 bright shining stars! No spoilers!
True Colours topped the first book, and that was a good read. Dan and Maya, so much excitement, twists and turns, lots of steamy scenes. Everything in the book is balanced out, not too much, not too little...just right, perfect. Dan is one strong alpha male but his arrogance takes a backseat when he hurts Maya and that's beautiful, he apologizes each and every time at the drop of a hat, swoon worthy for sure. Maya has gotten some backbone from his strength and has utilized it by confronting Sara, her growth blossoming beautifully right before our eyes. I'm anxious to see Mandy's HEA for this new power couple, with her writing I can't imagine how great it will be. Thank you Mandy for sharing your talent with us!Hero and heroine, strong, beautiful, he's powerful, handsome, uber alpha, she's beautiful, talentedCheating, noSteamy sex, yes BDSM light, not for the lighthearted, but take the chanceSuspenseful, yesGood storyline, absolutelyCliffhanger, yes, and it's a great oneSwearing, yes appropriate for this story 18+ recommendedEditing issues, typos, if there are any I can't recall them, either way they should be overlooked, this series is worth itDon't hesitate, download You Don't Know Me now then this, they must be read in order.

Fifty Shades
Only difference Maya is no Ana. Other than painting and making toast there is nothing she seems able to do. All the men cater to her. Serve and wash up after her as she looks on. Certainly not independent. I'm surprised she is able to get up by herself every morning. I do like Dan and all secondary characters. But still so much fifty shades.
