Q: Is this the same as or similar to falernum?

They may be interchangeable but they have different taste profiles. The Falernum liqueur is a rum base with notes of ginger, lime, clove and almond. The syrup is similar, but usually made with a simple syrup base instead of rum. Falernum is a sweet syrup or liqueur with notes of ginger, lime, clove and almond. Passion Fruit Syrup is made from passion fruit.

Q: Has anyone tried this with Shaved Ice? Any good?

Haven’t tried this alone on ice. Might be a little too tart. I use it in cocktails with good results
