Dorman931-107 Liftgate Lock Actuator Compatible with Select Models FMVSS 206 Compliant

Opened my lift gate in the garage and noticed it was going to hit the garage door so I stopped it and it quit working afterwards. Scanned it and got these codes. My latch would still lock and unlock but made weird sounds and didn't work half the time. Tried lubricanting and cleaning the motor and latch with no luck. So after doing some research and not wanting to spend $1000 at a shop to get it fixed I decided to give this a try and they had used very good condition one for $60 instead of paying $180 I gave it a try. This was super easy to install on my 2008 escalade with power lift gate. Took 5min to install and everything worked right after with no problems! Hope this review helps others with the same problem.

I've owned a 2008 Tahoe for about 6 years now. Around 3 or 4 years ago after a cold winter night I attempted to open the rear liftgate and it was frozen. To help the lift on it I yanked on it and from that day the automatic lifting/closing never worked again but the gate would work manually. Wife hated it as did I. Finally about a week ago the latch finally gave out and the gate wouldn't even latch closed any more manually and it was impossible to lock. Finally I'd had enough and after being a skeptic from reading these reviews I ordered this latch. After a brief YouTube search on how to remove the interior trim panels and removing the old latch I decided doing it myself should be easy. It took about 45 mins to get everything apart remove the old latch which you will need a T30 Torx head screwdriver or socket. FOLLOW the instructions on install. Trace around the existing 3 mounting screws before removing the old one and it will help assure the alignment of the new one correctly. Do not plug it in until you have everything installed and ready to go. Plugging it in is the last thing I did to test before reinstalling the trim panel. This latch worked immediately with no issues. It's only been 1 day but I will update this review if there is any oncoming issues later and how long it lasts so far so good. Plus... it fixed the auto open/close function of the rear gate as well so that was awesome... win win! Thank You

Dorman usually has decent products, but this one Worked well for about a month. Then it quit.To me it’s not worth it for the money you spend on it.

I order from a previous vendor and their device worked for 26 days. I had to reorder and paid more for the Dorman. I will say you get what you pay for. This works with no problem and seems faster when opening then the last one. This unit is well put together. And I have a lifetime warranty. What a piece of mind. Amazon even helped me with this new transaction. Thanks AMAZON ;)

It worked and fit perfectly. The lift hatch on our 07 denali has never worked in the 3 years we have had it and made clunky sounds but did unlatch. I feared the gearing mechanism would need repaired but this piece fixed it and the hatch works perfect now. So far so good with easy replacement.

After two days EVERYTHING worked including automatic tailgate lift which had not worked since I bought the truck.

The Dorman lock actuator arrived within days, installed easily and seems to have fixed my 08 Tahoe's rear lift gate not opening. This is an early review of the product as it was just recently installed. Check back in a year!

Arrived quickly, and fixed my lift gate which has stopped working. Replacing took ~an hour, following a couple of helpful YouTube videos. Can’t comment on reliability just yet.
