Town 22806-8-1/4" Solid Stainless Steel Serving Spoon

I got this to scoop pancake mix onto a griddle. It’s the perfect size for my pancakes. Using it also as a serving spoon. It’s well made, handsome for regular use for dining with everyday flatware, and just the right size for plating vegetables or mashed potatoes. Good depth of scoop.

Perfect addition to my serving spoons!

I like to be really comfortable with my cooking utensils and I am not with this one. The spoon is not balanced properly. I like that the bowl of the spoon is somewhat heavy. But the handle in comparison is too thin and light weight. It almost feels as if the spoon is being pulled out of my hand by the weight of the bowl. Some cooks may not care about this, but it's not for me.

I ordered this spoon as it looked like a serving piece I used at an Italian restaurant in NYC. I was able to collect the sauce with the food. Well, this piece is exactly like that serving spoon!Today, Christmas Day, I served my homemade lasagna with fresh cheeses (softer than processed) and homemade sauce. Not one bit of sauce or slice of lasagna dripped and was as perfect as I had hoped. If I would change anything, perhaps a longer handle would help those who take more food at one time would help them balance.

While the serving spoons themselves are fine, the inventory control tags glued to the back are the issue. They are almost impossible to remove without using Goo Gone which is never a good idea around food.

It’s been a year now and these spoons serve their purpose very well. They were the perfect size for a milk steaming pitcher and light enough but still very sturdy.

I use this daily to scramble eggs for my dog. It does a great job.
