Organize It All Dual Compartment Step-On 8-Gallon (30 liter) Recycling Trash Can, Stainless Steel

I love this - in fact, I just bought my 2nd one. The first lasted 5 years. Great quality! I shopped around a lot this time to see if there were any others - and this still looks like the best.The good: the large size, the narrow and streamlined look, fits almost anywhere, the containers that hold the trash can be used without bags, and it's very sturdy. After 5 years I still had zero dents- even with 2 young boys running around my house. I get so many compliments on it.The bad: if you want to use trash bags (I do for trash, not recycle) - you have to get the method down for it to fit perfectly because the can is a little small for a standard bag and will pull up at one end if not secured when you put the interior can in. My trick is to put it on (over the handle), pull it down 1/3 of the way down the can, then pull one of the ties to secure, then twist that end until it's really tight (do not knot). Then when it drops into place, it fits perfectly and is secure on all sides. When you put garbage in, it will naturally creep down a bit but it stays in place. When you want to take the garbage out, pull gently on the side of the bag and it will release so you can tie it up, grab the handle and dump. I usually carry the whole can because the handle is so much nicer than risking the bag breaking in my house or dripping on my floor.Also, if you have wood floors, you may want to put some floor protectors for furniture underneath so that it doesn't scuff your floor over time from extended use.

I needed a trash/recycling dual bin for my kitchen to convince my husband and two teenage boys to actually recycle. But I needed something that looked nice, held plenty, and wouldn't break the first time of of my boys stomped on the pedal. This one has been working out fantastically!! It's holding up after two months of use it still looks new and works perfectly. I struggle with the trash bag installation though. The handle lays inside the rim of the bin and as such, it gets in the way of the trash bag being able to be pulled out without snagging (really not cool when it rips). Removing the handle makes the bin hard to pull out of the shell so you have to choose to live with bag snag or bin frustration. I opted to remove the handle and have a bit more struggle pulling the emptied bin out to install a new bag. But overall, this dual trash/recycling has been impressive with it's ability to withstand day to day use.

The Neu home design was perfect for our needs, with two equal size compartments -- one for each type of recyclying. And it fit perfectly in our spcae next to a single compartment Simple Human bin we use for our primary garbage.We chose this over the similar Simple Human 2-compartment can. The Similar Simple Human product has only one lid, and has one large compartment and a smaller side compartment. It did not do what we wanted. And it was about $50.00 more money.So we chose to try this Neu Home design that was more suited for use as a recycling bin in areas where you have to separate your recycling into (1) paper goods, and (2) bottles and cansIn comparing the two:1. The step-pedal on the Neu Home design leaves something to be desired. Often it gets out-of-whack --- and the lid will only open an inch or two when you step down. You have to reach down and re-align the metal bar that is attached to the pedal, so that it pushes the lid up properly. Not a big deal, once I figured out how to fix it. But, I have had the Simple Human for a couple years, and the pedal always works perfectly, as does the butterfly/slow-close lid.Plus the pedals are plastic, and seem less durable than the medal foot-pedal on the Simple Human.2. The Simple Human is a bit more heavy duty. Seems to be slightly higher gauge stainless than the Neu Home.In summary:They may be slightly lower quality, but the price is also much lower. The Neu Home bin is very clean and stylish for a non-hidden garbage/recycling bin. And a very solid alternative to Simple Human.

I can't believe I paid this much for a trash can. But once I got past the price, I realized that this is a really great trash can and may even be worth the sticker price. I was looking for a solution to avoid clutter in my kitchen by having multiple bags next to my trash can for recycling, etc. This does the job. Everything is contained in one attractive bin (that perfectly matches my stainless steel appliances), but is still separated so it's very easy to take outside and put in the appropriate bins. The color-coded foot pedals are an added bonus -- you don't have to actually touch the trash can to put something in it, and it's easy to tell what goes where. Initially, I was concerned that the trash bins would be very small requiring me to take the trash out every day. But you can actually fit quite a bit in the bin. And since the bins are removable (an even have a handle), it's pretty easy to take the trash out without making a mess even when the bins are quite full. It's also worth noting that the trash can was well-packaged so there weren't any dings, etc. in the stainless steel. I know others complained about this in their reviews so I'm not sure if I just got lucky or the packaging has recently improved, but that would have been a big con for me since this trash can is so expensive and part of the reason you pay that price is for looks! So glad I didn't have to deduct a star for that.The only con I see is that this trash can doesn't have a section for compost, but I knew what I was buying, so I can't really call that a con.

Nothing wrong with them just didn’t want them

Estoy muy contento con la compra pues el bote me ayuda a separar la basura orgánica en un recipiente y la reciclable en la otra, no deja escapar los olores, los acabos son muy buenos, es fácil de limpiar tanto por dentro como por fuera, y el mecanismo del pedal funciona muy bien. Lo recomiendo.
