I have purchased these a number of times now and apart from the fact that NO ONE has been on the phone offering me a repeat order discount ;-) I have absolutely nothing but positive comments and experience with this product. From order to receipt, seamless. For 100 pieces, your paying a fair amount more at the trade counter and usually when buying 100 you have a marginal percentage that will fail or are just knackered, it's an unwritten expectation that a couple would have been produced at 1 o'clock on a friday just before knocking off time and the quality inspector was in the bog. Not these, ZERO failure so far outta about 700. hugely impressed and happy. BUY THEM, I INSIST ......

These plugs are not manufactured to the same degree of accuracy as the originals of which these are copies. Some will crimp up ok but most are slightly out of centre and when crimping the die catches on the edge of pin one's retainer and takes a small sliver of plastic with it which it squashes onto the gold contact. 8 out of 10 when tested show high resistance or no connection on pin one. The other symptom of the inaccuracy is that cores 1 and 8 don't get sheared off by the blade completely. The genuine 'Platinum Tools' EZ RJ45 plugs crimp up perfectly 100% of the time and are £70 for 100 for a reason. However 70p for one RJ is stupidly expensive. Sorry these have caused no end of problems with the networks I've worked on since purchasing these.

I always used the standard connectors and was ready to re-stock. As always, Amazon was my "go-to" to find a good deal. I stumbled upon these and was curious to see how the "passthrough" feature would work. I ordered up the pack of 100 and it arrived 2 days later.I have to say, I was amazed at how much easier it was to wire up a cable! I just stripped the wire, made the right combos and pushed it through. The wires all lined up nice and easy ready to be crimped. I didn't have to fuss with the wires by killing my thumbs trying to straighten them out and tuck them tightly together. I also didn't have to worry about the wires not being long enough to hit the crimp.The fact that you can basically push the cable as deep as possible in the end is also great. This keeps things tight and the cable stays twisted all the way up to the end.Now I did notice a few negatives. Well, one really. Although it's great to pull the wires through, cutting them is another story. It's very difficult to cut them flush because of the tab at the tip. At first, I just cut as flush as I could but then I found the cable would not plug in far enough into the wall or device. The little bit of protrusion from the cable ends prevented a flush contact in the plug.I then pulled a finer pair of cutters and managed to trim off enough to get the cable to lock in the plugs in the device. My issue now was that I ended up shorting two cables from having to cut so messy. I was able to fix it though thanks to my "Ideal" cable tester. I think the issue here is that you really need the proper cutting tool to trim those ends. A normal pair of wire snips just won't do it.Overall, I do love the time saving these ends offers. There is way less fumbling with the fine wires and the cable ends up nice and tight at the end. It does make a solid connection. You just have to watch how you trim the cables sticking out.Pros:Easy to useCan make cable ends much fasterNo sore thumbs when making many cables!Cons:Difficult to trim end flush**Update: I've since purchased the Klein Tools VDV226-110 that is made specifically for these connectors and it works 100 times better. Without this tool though, it does not matter how fine your cutters are, you won't get the end flush without risking the wires cross connecting externally on the tip. I strongly recommend getting the Klein tool for these.
