44/45 Caliber Brown Leather Gun Holster

Very nice.
A great gun belt. I've been looking forward to getting this type of belt for a long time, and found this one. Based on the reviews I bought it, and it is definitely worth the price. It is Mexican made, and for those of you who know a little about leather, you know that Mexican handcrafted leather work is some of the best. The bullet loops were a little bit loose, but not so bad that I am afraid the bullets will fall out.I debated how many sizes to go up, and based on other people's reviews I went 6 inches above my pant size. This was a mistake. I am 6' 190 lbs, and I wear a pant size of 36. I should have ordered 4 inches bigger, then I would probably be tightening it to the second to last hole. As it is, I am tightening the belt all the way to the last hole, and it still is in danger of falling down (especially with a .44 Mag with a 6 inch barrel, lots of weight there). It was my mistake, so I'm not going to base my overall review on that. So if you wear your pants a little looser, go with the recommended 2 inch increase, or maybe a 4 inch increase. If I had a reason to, I would definitely buy this same holster. I am very pleased with it, and it seems sturdy enough to last for many years.Edit 11-19-15: I took some of the ammo or of the loops the other day, and found corrosion on the cases. It is obviously the chemicals used in the leather finishing process, so just be warned not to leave ammo in it for months at a time. (I estimate the ammo had been in there for 5-6 months)

Very well made, great leather work.
Well made, very pretty, and fit as advertised! I used this holster for a Ruger .44 Mag Super Blackhawk. It fit the 6in Barrel with room to spare at the bottom. The gun rides a little high in the holster and the leather is stiff so the fit is not as smog as I had hoped. That being said, I wore this rig when I did some SERIOUS south TX hunting and the gun stayed in place perfectly. I was climbing, crawling, and sliding all over the place and I never worried about losing my pistol. The ammo rings held the .44s very securely. The only reason I didn’t give this rig 5 stars isn’t because I’m not the biggest fan of the leather string that slips over the hammer to hold it down. It makes quick drawing the gun .... not so quick. However it secures the gun very nicely and at the end of the day that is the most important thing! I would highly recommend this setup, it looks and feels great!!

Need to work new leather
As the add says, add a couple inches to your normal waist size. It is angled as the picture shows. You’ll need to work in the new leather. It will fit better as the leather loosens up I think. Stitching looks ok. Seems made well. I hope it stands up with time. The 44 I have fits just fine. My only point that I wish was better would have been a slightly longer leather loop to go over the trigger hammer. Other than that, it looks like it will hold up fine.

Good and Bad
I have a 36 inch waist. I ordered a 44 inch one originally for myself, but when it came I thought it was a little large when I sent it across my waist and allowed it to hang down to the right (like a gun belt should). I sent it back and asked for 2 inches smaller. So, I sent it back (the customer service was great); I paid for shipping, and when the new one came it was so small I couldn't wrap it around my waist and it fit my wife instead. She loves her new gun belt. So, happy and sad? It's like that episode of the Simpson's when homer ordered a bowling ball for Marge with his name engraved on it. My wife didn't know it was originally for me so I kinda look like a thoughtful hero *wink*Moral of the story, I don't know. Just watch out for those sizes. When you order a few inches longer than your belt size it will fit your thigh, but if you overshoot it, the belt will fall down your legs.

Pros and Cons
So I ordered three sizes up like most have suggested and I likely needed another two up. I wear a 42 and ordered a 48 and it’s still only on the first loop if I suck all the way in lol. It does feel pretty solid other than that and fits an Uberti Ranch Hand and a New Vaquero really well. It’s a little stinky at first but it goes away fairly quick. Other than sizing issues I’m pretty happy with it.
