Garbage
I bought this just in case. Put it in my emergency kit and forgot it. Now that hurricane Hillary is tracking to go directly over our city I dug it out installed batteries and turned it on. It receives a couple of fm and zero am stations which is to be expected these days but the disappointing part is when I select the weather band it receives absolutely nothing. The noaa weather stations are strong signals and it doesn't even sputter a little all across the band. Nothing. So take note: if you're hoping for this radio to Save your bacon you're fried.

Be sure to check on speaker viability from time to time.
I've had this model for about a year, I didn't use it much and I only recharged it once or twice when the battery began to run down and I keep the battery switch in the battery position in case leaving it in the lithium position has a trickle drain from anything, (such as the alert setting). The reason I mention this is because a few days ago I decided to try it out and got no sound, so I thought maybe the battery had run down, but it wasn't long before the RED charge had turned blue for a full charge. So, what am I missing, I'm getting the tuning LED, (green) lighting up as I spin the tuning knob, but no sound, so I think, maybe even though I've never used the headphone jack, that maybe that's what's keeping the sound muted, but I'm getting sound as I plugged in some ear buds? So, I opened it up and ohmed the speaker, I get infinity, (it's an open) I even clipped the speaker wires and still, infinity, so somehow just sitting idle without being turned on, the speaker blew itself open?So now I'm ordering some spare speakers and the one that blew was 8 ohm 1.5 watt, so my replacement is going to be slightly higher at 2 watt, 8 ohms.Maybe the last time I tried out the siren it blew, I don't know because I can't remember hearing an abrupt silence while in the SOS position.Maybe the speaker is underrated power wise, but the speaker looked to be a bit old as even though it has a big magnet, there was visible rust between the magnet and the speaker frame surfaces that are in close proximity to each other.Maybe you won't experience what I have, maybe the speaker will never blow, but just be aware that it could happen and maybe try buying a different model, (like KA580).
