Time Consuming Removal
I purchased this yellow chalk marker to help in making cozy bowls for Xmas gifts. I think I will resort to my old-fashioned chalk pencils that I have been using since high school. Yes, they may be a hassle to sharpen, but I can remove the marks with an eraser made just for that purpose or brush off with a stiff brush. Unfortunately, the wheel at the tip of the Madam Sew chalk marker got caught up on my batting. So, I decided to flip the project and mark on the right side of the fabric since the directions indicated all I need do is rub off the chalk marks or lightly wash away the lines when finished sewing. This did not happen for me. The clean fabric I used to rub off the chalk marks became stained with yellow, but did not completely remove the chalk from the front of my project. My presser foot became dusty with the chalk, and felt I had to clean out the bobbin case too. Washing the chalk from my project and the rubbing towel required more than just water. Dish soap did not work. I had to use laundry detergent and wash the entire project ad rubbing towel to remove the yellow tracings and rubbing marks. In addition, I had to use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove the yellow chalk that had discolored the top of my sewing machine insert. This simple hall tool required more work than I wanted when trying to meet a gifting deadline. I could return it, but I do not want to go through the hassle. I am glad that I had ordered just one for trial purposes. I do not have the patience to deal with this notion that is supposed to help, but makes more work for me.

Buyer Beware - Not removable as advertised
Apparently this is not meant for white fabric. I got this because anything labelled quilting or sewing chalk is known to be used to make quilting or sewing lines and the intent is to wash out.It didn’t wash out. It didn’t wash out of the white flowers on the expensive Kanvas Studio Poppy Promenade fabric line. It didn’t wash out of the white high quality Kona Cotton. It didn’t wash out of the pearly white quilting thread.I tested before I used it, sure. Scraps fabric of the exact same I was using for the quilt and rolled several lines on it; it both brushed off and came off with a little water on a damp qtip. Ok, felt good to go with it. Apparently the dye in this chalk has a permanent effect when it’s on there for longer than a few minutes. And this quilt is for a friend of the family who is in chemo right now...I don’t have the time (or really the money) to just say lesson learned and make another one. All I can hope is the stain removing treatment I’m using will eventually take it out.I will Never. Ever. buy *anything* from Madam Sew again.

Tiny little chalk marker
The chalk marker came in a nice packaging. It is easy to use and it makes a clicking sound when using it. The chalk dispensing is very precise and it works well on different types of fabric I have on hand. I wish the marker pen is a couple inches longer for my big hand. All in all, a good product.Updated:I just bought a yellow chalk marker as well, my first one is a red one and I like them both. The yellow color works much better in darker fabric and the red one works better in lighter colored fabric. The markers hold quite a bit of chalk and it may last me a couple years before I need to refill.

Simple, Neat, Time-Saving
The media could not be loaded. This product is DEFINITELY worth getting! The "dosing wheel technology" it touts is pretty cool. You can actually hear the wheel clicking as it rolls while you draw your marks or line, and it's quite smooth and neat. Fortunately, with it being so simple to use, it's a snap to erase/redo if your line isn't perfectly straight, e.g. when your camera's in the other hand - lol. While I expect this pen to last for quite some time, I also like that I can refill it.

chalk marking pen never needs sharpening, precise line
This Madame Sew marking pen is a clever little marker, leaves a clear, fine line and feels like a sharpie. Another reviewer thought it was too short but to me it fits my hand nicely, it's not too big, it has a flexible feel for eithre straight lines or curves. The chalk is very fine powder, goes on smoothly and can be flicked off easily. The body is clear which shows how much chalk is in still in it (arrived very full). Thumbs up.Update: Got a yellow pen as well as the white, it's good too. The line the markers leave is tighter on smooth fabric than fabric that's very loose or open textured which is similar to a solid marker. Doesn't use much powder per line, I can see it lasting quite a while, and I like that it's refillable too.

Nice idea but....
The little tiny toothy wheel sticks a lot. The concept is nice but the little wheel doesn't wanna roll! It's okay but not worth the money they charge. The teeth pull the fibers on stretch knits. Probably better on woven fabrics

Stays marked with no mess and washes out no problem
After full use on a quilt, this is definitely my favorite marking tool out of the several I tried. The tip is wide but it's very easy getting used to. The wide tip does make it a little more difficult when using stencils but I still preferred this one over the pounce pad for that method. I went through about half of the chalk but it's refillable. Not messy at all. Product stays on project but washes out fully. It was my go-to first choice when needing to mark something.

Works ok' but lacks precision.
works well enough. if you are looking for precision' this won't do simply because it dispense too much and bleeds. also' the dispensing wheel work in one direction. going the other direction it seems not to spin.

Disappointing
Stays on fabric even after a good wash
