Two of the LCD digits have 3 dead segments each out of 6 (0 reads like L). The scale body sits wobbly on a flat desk. The purchase order inside the Amazon envelope shows a price of $21.95 while I paid $65.40+taxes. Bad product, no quality control and dishonest seller. I am returning this one.

Whatever your weighing needs are this gets the job done! It comes pretty much calibrated out of the box. I bought the wrong calibration weight but its no more or less than .01 off. It also has numerous other units of weighing, which in convenient. Its a good buy, if you want a cheap 0.01 scale buy this, cheap and accurate out of the box. IF YOU'RE BUYING THIS SCALE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND BUY A WEIGHT TO CALIBRATE BE SURE IT'S A 100GM WEIGHT. Don't be like me and buy the 50gm one because the scale will tell you its not the correct weight.

I bought this for working with perigord truffle cultures. Calibrates fine and is very precise and based on the calibration weights it seems accurate as well.

Very nice actually with the exception that the case and battery cover are not well molded in the back on the bottom and to get a flat, stable seat I had to do some filing.April 2011 update: After a few months it started draining the batteries while turned off. This takes about a day.

I am a high school chemistry teacher and have used these in my lab for the past 10 years. They are just now starting to wear out and I am replacing them with the exact same thing. The only drawback is you do need a separate 100g calibration weight. Otherwise, they are sturdy, dependable, easy to calibrate and accurate. They have lasted much longer than the expensive balances purchased from the scientific supply houses. The other teachers laughed at me when I bought them and they are now getting them for their classrooms (yes, we are spending our own money, buying them 1 or 2 at a time because it is worth it to have working equipment.)
