In Season 13 of the hit series NCIS, the missions turn personal when a hostage situation traps one of their own, new evidence calls the unit's conclusions into question, and a threat from the past targets the team and their allies. Yet even when the danger hits close to home, Special Agent Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) knows he can count on his supremely skilled team to cope with the crises that affect U.S. military personnel and national security. As the stakes rise higher than ever, Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) makes his final exit in the unforgettable series finale. Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Brian Dietzen, Emily Wickersham, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum co-star in the 24 thrilling episodes collected on DVD for the first time in this 6-disc set.

Tony leaves
This is one of my favorite shows. Tony has been maturing over the past few years, and has often expressed his desire for a family. In this show, he discovers that he has a daughter and leaves NCIS to be a father to his daughter, and hopefully find the mother of his child.

Enjoyable TV, without commercials
All those streaming services are getting to expensive, just as cable tv was.I'm glad I've bought several box sets and individual movies of shows I'd enjoyed.I get to watch them in order and without commercials.

The Season of Characters Past, Present, and Future
I call season thirteen the season of past, present, and future because it really made the characters The season starts with the aftermath of Gibbs being shot by Luke, which leads to Dinozzo and the team onto something of a blood quest to get the terrorist cell recruiting the kids. During the course of this, we meet Dr. Cyril Taft-who saves Gibbs life and serves as a darker, sometimes comedic confidant for Gibbs in what I thought was an interesting arc for Jon Cryer. Dinozzo has to deal with the return of Jean Benoit and the final revelation from Ziva. Ducky is reunited with a brother that he thought died years ago in the episode Spinning Wheel. Abby is tasked with clearing her brother’s name in the crossover episode Sister City with NCIS NO. She also has to revisit the past in the episode 16 years where she may have helped falsely convict a man because of faulty evidence.Overall, I thought this season tied up a lot of loose ends for long time NCIS fans and gave Dinozzo a respectful finale, while also giving viewers greater insights into these characters by making them probe what makes them tick. I think the stories are a lot more a-b-c then they were in the early days of NCIS, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. That a show is able to keep a following after thirteen years means they must be doing something right.

A timeless treasure
After thirteen seasons; this series never gets old. I can watch these over and over and over again without getting bored. The writers for this show are amazing. Here and there, there's an episode or two that I go, ehh, but they still get me in the end! The cast; well; I miss Kate, Ziva, & yes, Tony; on the other hand, I think that Gibbs, McGee, & Abs are probably three of the best. I hope this continues and will be curious to see how the writers face keeping things alive & fresh. One big sideline of the show that I cherish is; how they manage to acknowledge our own service men & women. Season two, episode, "Call of Silence" will be one of my all time favorites. Even after watching this time & time again, I still cry. Great job Gibbs. Keep it up.
