AvanaKind Bed Orthopedic Support Pillow Comfort System with Tencel-Eucalyptus Cover 24-Inch-Wide

I slept on the Avana Comfort System for the first time last night. I think this is a wonderful product and it is helping me get through a really difficult time.This is a shaggy dog story with a point, not just me whining. I am 69 years old, an overweight retired policeman, and I have been diagnosed as needing a right hip replacement due to osteo-arthritis. When I qualify for this surgery it will be my 4th replacement - I have been through a left hip and a double-knee surgery that were very successful. I did a lot of walking earlier this year after heart surgery. (There was no rehab program because of COVID.) The pain from the right hip got worse and finally wouldn't go away to the point that walking any distance is out. Then I experienced something I wouldn't wish on anyone else. It is called "referred pain." This is where due to the way the nerves are connected in the body, you have a trauma in one place but you feel it somewhere else. In my case it is acute pain below my right knee and in the shin area.I found multiple articles in reputable journals like the NIH that indicate there are many sufferers.But here is the problem: I can't sleep normally which for me was on my side. I have to have my legs elevated a bit, and often with an ice pack, to back the pain off at all, along with prescription medication.I should have had the surgery 6 months ago but there are new rules about weight and BMI. I have lost 31 pounds since September 19. I have also discovered that I am not alone in fighting the battle to reach a much lower weight to qualify for surgery.I was using an odd combination of available pillows to prop myself up and I have another large edge for my legs, but it is too high. Several hours of being elevated that way and I was almost worse off, except I did sleep along the way.I bought the Avana System because I was about at my wit's end. Admittedly, it does seem a bit expensive but it is very well designed and very well made. The cloth covers over the memory foam are very well stitched. They are comfortable, soft and attractive. More importantly, the system is easily adjusted and has several ways it can be reconfigured.Last night I used the knee elevation with the support setup to keep myself raised up. I was way more comfortable. This was just the right height of knee elevation to keep the referred lower leg pain at bay. My head, shoulder, and chest were comfortably, yet firmly supported. The memory foam is amazing.Here is the one warning I would give. It is also plainly stated on the instructions: DO NOT CUT the package open. If you unroll it and wait a little while, the memory foam will inflate.anyway, I really like this product and I hope this helps someone else.

This is an awesome bedrest! Looks beautiful and very well made. It's soft and sturdy at the same time. Has grips that attached to the bottom of the bed rest that holds the pillow in place. I love this. I have COPD and have to sit up to sleep and this is perfect. Looks better than the pictures!

I bought this orthopedic bed after comparing reviews with other similar “beds.” I had a breast reduction and lift 3 weeks ago and I can now say how I would change things around and how I ended up using it to make the most of it. The support is great though I wish it was a little softer and more conforming to my back. I had to put a really soft loose pillow to take off some of the pressure on my back. I didn’t use the headrest at all, at least not for my head, it was too hard and it hurt my neck. I used it as an arm rest and it worked out beautifully. Also it kept my husband on his side of the bed (lol). The leg rest was a tad to high and hard making the back of my knees sore after using it for a couple of days. I’m still using the “arm rest” and the curved part of the set. It really has been great overall. I suggest you buy ahead of time try it different ways to see how it would work for you. Also keep a couple of super soft, light support pillows handy and you’ll be able to rest and sleep comfortably. BTW yes it does help with pain relieve. I tried to sleep without it once after the second week of my post op and I couldn’t do it. That’s why I’m now only using the curved part of the set and the “arm rest.” I sleep so well with those that I’m not sure when I’ll stop using them.

Too many moving parts, not comfortable enough to use. Wanted to deliver but beware of short return wi Dow. Product does not net my needs and would not suggest anyone purchase it for comfort- pain relief will end up in your garage or attic

I have fibromyalgia and other chronic orthopedic problems that cause me lots of pain. Sitting in a weird position is enough to make me miserable for hours.Enter this amazing product! I can now sit up in bed, support my knees, cushion my sore neck, and in general be way more comfortable in my bed.After months of near-daily use it doesn't show any signs of collapsing or wearing out. I've come to prefer using this to sitting on the couch! 🤣🤣

I cannot love this pillow more!! It has so many configurations for comfort while watching tv, reading books, or surfing the internet. My neck and shoulders have a lot of pain from genetics, posture, and long hours on the computer. I was looking for the right pillow to make it possible to have better posture while lounging and relaxing at the same time. My neck pain has reduced and my comfort too. The pillow is a good part of this as well as posture consciousness.I really like all the options the pillow allows!

Puedes usarlo cómodamente sin necesidad de recargarlo en una superficie fija. Tienes la opción de configurarlo a tu gusto y es de excelente calidad. Es un poco más caro que otro tipo de respaldos, sin embargo, ¡Vale la pena pagar la diferencia! Kinda hesitated to order due to high price originally, yet glad that I bought it. It's fantastic for lounging, elevated sleeping posture which help to reduce my blocked nose in morning... everything good! Happy with it. Hope they sell just the pillow case so we can change it. It's about hard to remove and put back the case

We had to return this product cause it was packed in such a small box that it had become completely shapeless and wrinkled...totally unusable and not matching the pic we were thought to believe we'll get...total waste of a good product due to the packaging...
