Tall Tales and Wee Stories: The Best of Billy Connolly

The stories are those from his stand up act over the years. So I have already heard most of them. Since I am a huge fan that is a real treat. I had many moments of laugh out loud.

Billy is one of an elite group known as the funniest men on earth. Thank you, God, for him. His wrap up in this book is so inspiring. Thank you, Billy, for that.

I love this guy. He's hilarious! But just reading his stories isn't that funny. If you want a collection of his work you might like it. Gave it 4 stars just because I like him.

Love and enjoy Billy's books, videos, most of his movies, basically love Billy Connolly. He makes me laugh, and when I might be feeling a little down, I put on one of the snippets I find on YouTube of his comedy, and he cheers me up immediately.

Just a great laugh of tales and memories from a hilarious story teller.Makes me want to go to Scotland during a pandemic!Thank you Billy for all the laughs and the last 50 years worth!Cheers, here's to many more laughs.

This was amusing and I could hear him telling the stories but he is a live performer at heart and i think a little is lost in the writing. It was very funny though.

Lots of typical Billy Connolly stories with lots of the F--- word thrown in. Short vignettes of life in Scotland (for ex., the typical Scottish picnic - with the rain pissing down). A real laugh-out-loud book.

I read this book while on a flight to Valencia. Spain. I went to visit my son who lives there and found the journey was so difficult, have you ever tried not to laugh out loud while reading a book . This is just one laugh after another on every page, enjoyed every minute reading it. Will definitely be reading more of his books cheered me up so much, great read.

Dont try and read before bed.This is not a book to settle down to. Everytime I read it going to bed I cant stop laughing. This is the guy I would love to meet in a pub and just listen to him talk. He is a fantastic story teller as all his fans know. This book is essentially just reading the same thing. Brilliant book, brilliant man.

A collection of some of Billy Connolly's best known stand-up material. And because it's his stuff, it's still brilliant, but it does lack those obvious things. His delivery and stage presence, his interaction with the audience, and of course the visual side.The last few pages are poignant, and although we've lost him from live stand-up, one gets the feeling there's yet more to come - maybe more writing, perhaps.So long live The Big Yin... there's no-one else that gets close...

I've always loved attending his irreverent shows, reading books and interviews and watching the fascinating, insightful documentaries. No one tells stories like Billy, and this book has an abundance of anecdotes that had me laughing aloud. He's the perfect antidote for the boring PC woke unfunny beigeists who call themselves comedians but will never be fit to lace this man's boots!
