Add to Cart: Yes because the SWAT helmet won't fit right without it.So in the land of COVID, the new normal requires protection, especially in a clinical setting. So while we are given some cheap plastic visor like something given to you at Universal Studios for an attraction, I can't honestly say I feel all that safe. Now this bomb squad, riot gear, SWAT helmet is something I can get behind...literally. But it doesn't come with a comfy fitting apparatus. I think it's a rip because they should just come together instead of me having to piece meal it. Viva capitalism I guess. I have to give it 4 stars on its merit but deduct 1 because it's a rip it didn't come with the helmet.

I intend to use this as general face and head protection when using a wood lathe for spindle turning. It's quite a bit lighter than I expected, which may or may not be a good thing. I suppose time will tell whether it provides any real protection from flying shards, but who wants to find out from experience that it doesn't?I made the mistake of buying the model with the hard hat adapter, thinking the added cost meant that there was a second head strap included, since the added cost doesn't make sense if you're just swapping out one head strap for another. This is incorrect. It came with only the hard hat adapter strap, so I have no choice but to use it with a hard hat, which is kind of a bummer. I was hoping to have the choice when it felt necessary. "Then just send it back and order the other one." Well, I'd rather just suck it up and get back to work, I suppose.

This was purchased as an added safety measure during the Covid-era. So far, it has worn well and doesn't look horrible either (it reminds me of a motorcycle helmet). I still wear a cloth mask underneath the shield, and sometimes I wonder how much the shield adds to my safety. But given the paucity of information regarding transmission routes, I would rather be safe than sorry. So, based on the precautionary principle, I've been wearing this shield while doing grocery shopping and am happy to have this added layer of precaution.

I'm a contractor for an electrical company, and the face shield they provide fog up so easily. Based on the reviews, I made th3 decision to purchase this. It's just as described. The anti-fog, the clear vision and the comfortability of this is top notch. I attached it to my hard hat and it has so many different locking positions along with how close or how far you want to be from the shield itself. We grind off metal rings when they are too rusted, and this is a life saver. Only thing you have to do is takr a cloth and wipe off the inside of the shield to clean it. This makes work so much easier and safe!MAKE SURE TO RIP OFF THE PLASTIC ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SHIELDOtherwise you'll be using it with blue coating plastic which makes it difficult to see

I was delighted to learn I could buy the the headband separately and not have to buy a whole new helmet. I knew you could buy lenses but I've been using these for many years and wasn't aware these parts were available. Hat's off to Uvex.

Really like the Uvex 8500 line of face shields. They are light, crystal clear face shield with no distortion noticed.Very lightweight, all plastic construction.This model, the 8515, comes ONLY with a hardhat adapter. It has a slotted front plastic piece that the bill o fa hardhat fits in, and a strong neoprene elastic strap to go around the back of the hard hat.It does not have a suspension for you to wear it directly on your head.Plenty of room to wear reading or Rx glasses under it.HIGHLY recommended for all your grinding /sanding protection needs. I use it with 11k RPM angle grinders, and feel quite safe.

The box indicates that it can be worn without hard hat. I bought this with that belief, but there isn't any way it can be used without one. I used the link to contact Honeywell through Amazon and it won't let me contact them because my phone is, supposedly, not set to the correct date and time.Considering whether to buy an unnecessary to me hat or to ship it back.

missing a piece that is shown in the picture that holds your head on the visor, and no instructions.. looks like its used as it came in a box partially assembled, unpacked and no instructions.. returning it, as its very flimsy and to put any confidence in this as safety equipment would be dangerous IMO

This is a fantastic product for hairstylists. Easy to assemble and clean. This is a true 4.5⭐️ rating, the padding could be thicker to make the product luxuriously comfortable for someone that wears it 7+ hours each day. I did add more padding to mine. I recommend this product for anyone in a service or education industry. My space ship will be ready for launch on May the 4th.

I waited a month to get this product in. In its pictures it shows it with the hard hat adapter which was included in the box and the ratcheting headpiece which did NOT come with the item. I need this piece for work and it is included in the photos but not in the box. DO NOT BUY if you don't use hard hats.

It’s was not the same from picture , I m in Mexico now and stop the paiement when I coming back in Montréal, I not happy about what you buy me is not the same !

Fits on a hardhat which is a plus. Very flimsy. I wouldn't trust it to stop anything bigger than a grape. But value for the money is decent. Would recommend.
