Stansport Cedar Creek 3 Season Tent-8 Ft X 7Ft X 54 in-Green/Grey Trim

I took this tent to Lake Piru the same day i got it. Shipping was faster than stated and came just in time to go camping! This tent is a great size for a 6' person. 8' is perfect for the long length of the tent. My head and feet have ample room while laying down on a matress and do not touch the tent. I had problems with my toes touching the tent sides on my old 7x7 stansport tent. Cold and wet toes can really be annoying when its raining at night. The door is good and stays off the ground when entering and exiting. Its roomy and has enough room for 2-3 adults. Light weight and good for backpacking, BUT the tent bag and shock poles are 26.5" long, not shorter as stated. So this tent will not fit a smaller pack that has less than 24" of usable height. Bummer! The fly is easy to install without bending over too much and fits tighter against the tent body than a coleman tent, keeping the tent warmer on breezy nights. It needs to be sealed with a good sealer to keep the rain out, but I doubt it will be waterproof in a heavy downpour. A 12x14 foot tarp over the tent solves that problem though and keep the air in the tent warmer on those cold mornings. All in all this is the best size tent for taller backpackers who use a framed backpack with at least 26.5" of usable height space in their main compartment. <24" shock poles, with the tent folded on its shorter length and some other color choices like olive green with a mylar lined floor would make this tent 5 stars for sure. 8 is great!

I bought two of these because they are not very expensive. When we woke up in the morning everything was soaking wet. The moisture came right through the bottom. After barely working from the start, the zippers broke on both of them later that day and we had to go back to town to get a new higher quality one late in the evening. You get what you pay for, so don’t buy this tent.
