Sassy
Love all the sassy characters in this book. And of course, Pyewacket is the star! A very good read that makes me want to read the whole series.

Good
A bequest from a relative she never knew she had, has Mitzy Moon heading to the Great Lakes to take possession of the bookstore her grandmother left her. She’s barely been in town a few hours before she is accused of murdering her grandfather- a grandfather she didn’t even know she had! With the help of her ghost-ma (grandmother’s ghost), her caracal Pyewacket, and a bunch of friendly residents, Mitzy attempts to clear her name, and find the real culprit! This book grows on you. At first, I found Mitzy to be a little annoying. By the end of the book, I had grown to enjoy her irreverence and cheeky manner! Of course, Pyewacket was my favourite character: and I definitely loved the hat tip to the original cat of that name! The characters are quirky, especially the clothes-horse ghost-ma and the bashful sheriff; but it all combines to create a small town that’s as sweet and American as apple pie, and as cosy a paranormal mystery adventure as any paranormal cosy fan could ask for.

Entertaining, but…
An entertaining book that I actually finished. It had a simple plot, likable characters, and more than plenty of cheesy humor.

Excellent
I wasn't even into the 1st chapter and I wanted to Stop and give a 5 star review! Tricks Silvertale , author, is unique! She includes you the reader in her story by asking you questions and telling you how she feels, it's as if you are communicating with her. Then she continues with her story.. I have not read a book by any author who does this . It was different and fun !! I enjoyed this book soooooo much.! Thank you

Reunion with a quirky difference
I have listened to a few of the latest Mitzy Moon books and really enjoyed them so wanted to go back to the begin and see how it all began. Glad I did because I enjoyed it. However at first I didn't like Mitzy, she was not the character I have come to really like, as she was selfish and a party animal and I wondered if I had got the wrong book. I kept on and as I did the Mitzy I know began to show herself and become interesting. I guess the author had to show how much her life had changed after receiving her letter. Pye the cat and Grandma the ghost are there usual helpful selves and just two of the wonderful characters I have come to expect from this author. There was two mysteries in this book which kept it interesting and both get tied up nicely at the end. Still a good fun series to read, no matter what order you read it in.Life for Mitzy is one big party or working in a coffee shop getting bossed around until she opens a letter from a dead relative she doesn't know she has. It's a letter from her grandmother's lawyer informing her that she has just inherited a bookshop in Pin Cherry Harbour. With her rent pasted due Mitzy packs up her meagre belongings and hits the road. She is not off to a very good start when arriving at the local dinner she bumps into the handsome sheriff, literally. Then at the book store while investigating strange noises at the back door, she finds out that her grandma not only has a cat but also a dead body in her alleyway. The sheriff is quick on the scene and finding her standing over the body is even quicker to arrest her. Things get really weird once she is released first the dead man is her grandfather, her father has just got out of prison and her dead Grandmother is talking to her. If Mitzy wants to stick around and get to know the family she never knew she might just have to clear her name first and what about her fathers? If she can prove he didn't kill the manager in a botched robbery than he might just choose to stick around too.
