Nice umbrella but I have concerns
I like the shade it gives to my Florida patio. It was easy to assemble and was up in less than 30 minutes. You do need weight on the base! I am concerned about all of the threads at the seams. I wrote to the company (email address was on the booklet), I have not heard back from them. Hopefully the seams hold.Update! The company contacted me and offers to send a new canopy!

High quality and worth every dime!!
The media could not be loaded. This is definitely the deluxe version of cantilever umbrellas. I’ve owned a few and this one has to be my overall favorite of them all. The mechanics and parts are made better are high quality and meant to last. It’s true you get what you pay for and with this umbrella your paying for high quality. Even the top vented to allow air flow and less likely to tip or become unbalanced. This umbrella is 10 feet wide and extremely big covering a huge area in the shade . It’s keeps the uv rays off of my deck and really allows for relaxing comfort with 100 percent UV protection. The wide coverage area makes it easier to entertain guests and keep them comfortable. The fabric is also very water repellant. The mechanics of this umbrella with the crank and tilt are very nice and very high quality easy to crank up and down and lock into place . Even my 12 year old was able to do this on his own. It also comes with a nice umbrella cover to keep it clean and protected when not in use. We did purchase a base separate that holds it down and keeps it stable . Great buy.

Great Umbrella, Pathetic Manual
So, I'm going to give 5-stars to the umbrella, but 1-star to the version of the manual I got (which they promised will get better, and they were communicative and helpful when I reached out). Hopefully you can use the following info if you choose to purchase this umbrella:EXTEND MAIN POLE: The manual makes it sound as if there are two pieces of the pole you have to attach. This is not the case, as it is actually one unit with a part that telescopes down. This was not intuitive to me or my neighbor (who actually ordered the same unit). Without extending this pole your umbrella would only be like 5ft tall and impossible to use.EXTEND UMBRELLA SUPPORT ARMS: Similarly, it was not clear to me that some of the umbrella arms needed to be extended. Without doing this some of the arms wouldn't attach to the fabric and it was super confusing.BEWARE OF TANGLED SUPPORT ARMS: Just a word to the wise, but some of mine got all tangled in shipping.ADD WEIGHT TO BASE: This and other companies sell a weighted base you can add sand or water to, but I just purchased four 18" square patio pavers from a big box home improvement store which I think have about the same combined weight as what is sold on Amazon, but cost me much, much less.WATCH YOUR FINGERS: Common sense, but however I was holding the unit while collapsing it pinched my fingers some.

Complete Waste of Time and $
This purchase was snakebitten from the beginning. Our umbrella arrived with missing hardware pack, crank handle, bolts, etc. Notified company , and they were good enough to send out the missing parts. All good, so far. Assembled fairly quickly, and inserted the recommnended bottom weights , but they dont stay in place because the metal clamps that hold them together are mis-designed / too short and slip out immediately.... not a deal breaker, but jeez, simply adding an extra 1/2" to each would solve the problem. Terrible design. We used it once, no issues. We always bring our umbrellas down at night or when not in use.So we cranked it back up the 2nd day and it was fine for about 3 hours when suddenly the support rope snapped causing the whole umbrella top to fall on a group of 5 friends underneath. No, we didn't overcrank or overtighten the the rope , I'm always cautious about that. This was simply a case of extremely piss poor quality of the rope, it's way too thin to support an 11' ft diameter umbrella. Now we have a snapped rope (which is damn near impossible to replace due to no access areas to re-string it), and several of the ribs bent when the rope snapped and they touched ground. Amazon was good enough to take it back, )havent seen refund yet, but should soon) I'm out 2-3 hours of assembly and disassembly time, and thankfully our friends werent hurt and laughed off the umbrella crashing down on them. This umbrella looks great, but is way under engineered, with flimsy steel, too-thin rope and plastic supports and crank parts where steel should have been used . If it was a $200 umbrella might have accepted these defects, but at nearly $500 it's a rip-off. Steer clear unless you enjoy frustration and aggravation.

Complete garbage. AVOID
Horrible. I never write reviews but was compelled to for this item. no instructions. some Chinese characters stickers on certain items. Item arrived entirely dysfunctional- certain parts didn't even fit. and again ZERO instructions for assembly. worst item we've bought amazon in years.

Returning, leaves alot to be desire, numerous quality control issues
Sorry, this thing is just OK and by the time it is all put together and you realize you should get a different one who is going to take it apart and haul a giant/heavy thing in to return. Summary of the below: The frame and base is pretty solid the fabric/ sewing is not great and there has to be better options out there at this price. The Good:-It's an umbrella, and it works for shade, etc (at this time)-The base and frame seems well made and sturdy-I like that you could drill this into the ground if you needed toThe Bad...just in 24hrs of use:-The directions get a C, they are ok, but subpar when it comes to the hooks and extending the arms. Also, the cover was not intuitive at first glance and comes with some kind of tent pole thing?-2 of the top hooks that hold the umbrella at the top broke off in a matter of seconds of the first gust of wind and all of them seem to be lightly sewn in-At least 1 of the bottom arm pockets (slot the arm goes into) is already torn a bit, again from wind-On mine when the umbrella arm is in the highest position/umbrella is directly overhead, the locking mechanism doesn't lock. if you put just a bit of tension on the handle it slips out of the locking hole.

This umbrella is HUGE - way too hard to open and close
The difference between 10 ft and 11 ft is really tremendous - it covers my whole patio (which was the objective). Very sturdy. Great heavy material.A really sturdy base is required to secure it when in the up position - either weighted 4 corner device or screwing to deck. A protective cover is included to keep it clean.Although this product worked for a time - the centre "pole" with the cord to fully turn the umbrella out has mis-aligned and will not line up again making it impossible to extend to its full 11ft. The size and weight of this product is way too heavy to operate smoothly for one person. It is being returned.
