I bought this filter to replace a pentair pool filter and it wouldn't go on smoothly. I thought I had it on well enough, but it wouldn't snap into place no matter how much I worked at it. Then about a week later, I noticed my pool was getting dirty, green and cloudy and the chemicals were off. The gauge on the pump said it was time to clean the filter even though I had just cleaned it a week ago. I decided to change it anyway and it was jammed stuck and it took my husband and me about 30 minutes to get it free from the holder. The filter apparently had a manufacturer's defect. I appreciate that Amazon allowed me to return it, but I hesitate to order another for fear that the same thing will happen as it is not made by Pentair.

Easy to install and fit perfectly. But after 4 months, i soon need replacement after taking good care of the cartridge. The starting pressure when I bought it was around 8psi. My pool did turned green once due to heavy rainfall and did a flocculant treatment (cartridge was removed and then vacuumed to waste). Otherwise, my pool chemestry was good all the time and the cartridge was clean on a regular basis. Now the starting pressure is 16psi.Update after 3 months. Needs to be replaced

Ok, if you pull the center stack out of the housing and then try to put it back in after the filter, you will not be able to get it back in. The center stack has to go in first, and then it is a very snug fit when you slide the filter over it. Seems to be working great! But you will need to be firm when installing over the stack...
