Larger solar panel. and a better battery
This Lithium 500L version comes with a larger solar panel that really can power the radio with the battery disconnected.This is a radio for a place without power as the solar panel and the lithium battery are large enough to make and store enough power.Don't get the 500 model as its solar panel is small and it barely trickles a charge. It will not power the radio by itself.I also like the analog tuning as you can quickly tune across the band and discover what is on the air. Digital tuning is nice if youknow what you looking for but analog tuning is great for a quick scan across a band.The black model heats up in the sun. The heat could dry out the battery. Get a lighter color model.Don't get black as it tends to heat up in the sun. The heat could dry out the batteryI recommend this model.

haven't really used it yet--it will be used for emergency situations but unit appears to be well made and a quality unit.

Wish I had never purchased this radio.
The radio is okay. But, I have a hearing problem. The volume is not loud enough, in my case, for me to hear a broadcast. I’ll most likely go be it to my son. Who has perfect hearing and reorder a different brand.

Great little radio
Great little radio. I have had no problems with battery life or any issues with the quality. I mainly use it for weather reports. Good reception.

Great product with many useful features
Bought this for my in-law for Christmas. He is in his 80's and found it easy to use and exciting with the extra features. He was like a kid in a candy store when he got it.

False Advertising
False advertising. The company claims the product is made in the US and places the American flag on the packaging, but the product is designed in the United States and made in China.

This has a better generator, better solr cells
Building up my earthquake kit and noticed I needed to upgrade my 30 year old crank radio. Technology has changed a bit. This has a better generator, better solr cells, LED lights and better tuning. I am now ready for the BIG ONE.
