EDITED: I am updating my review based on clarification of feedback that I received from my aunt, who I purchased these sheets for. She was still disappointed that the sheets didn't fit, but it was not due to the depth of the mattress. Rather, it was due to them being the right size. She has a full bed, and the sheets were about the size for a queen mattress. The sheets were not crisp because there was too much fabric. Still felt unfulfilled because they didn't fit the way they were supposed to. She also mentioned that the purple was not as purple in the image, and to that I agree (when I saw them when I shipped the sheets back) but they are a lovely, light purple color. I also want to point out that the company reached out to me to see if there was something they could do to fix the issue with the "deep pocket mattress." Considering that really wasn't the issue (all this was clarified after I posted the review), I'm upgrading my rating to 4 stars for customer service.ORIGINAL:Disappointed that these sheets do not fit my mattress. The promise of a 'deep pocket' is unfulfilled. Our mattress is less than 18" deep and this didn't go under the sides to hold the sheets in place. Color was nice, and the only reason why this got two stars. Will be returning.

I love these sheets - they feel like the sheets I grew up with. They are thicker than most sheet sets and they feel wonderful. They will wrinkle but it's not bad if you get them out of the dryer right away.And, if you are able to hang them on the line outside to dry, they are even better. The sheets feel great, cool, and crisp.I can't even count how many sheet sets I have purchased, trying to find this perfect set. They fit well on our king-sized bed.

The good: These sheets are almost exactly what I was looking for in terms of texture. Out of the package I washed them on warm with 1 cup baking soda (no detergent), then added 1 cup white vinegar to the cold rinse cycle. Tumble dry on low. Then I washed again with a small amount (about half of recommended amount) detergent on cold, with 1 c vinegar again added to the rinse. Tumble dry low, and they came out so close to perfect. They are just what I've been searching for. I *hate* sateen and have been looking for quality, crisp sheets. These are them. I imagine that after a few more washings they will be heavenly.The not so good: I don't know how I missed this in the description, but these sheets are DEEP. 22 inches deep according to the package. (Note: I just checked the description which lists them as 14-18", not 22" like the package says. I should have sent them back) I have a 15 inch mattress, so the fitted sheet doesn't, you know, *fit*. It looks sort of like someone put a set of queen sheets on a full sized bed. There's just too much fabric, so they don't lay taut, which is going to annoy me to no end I suspect. This means going out and purchasing some straps (spending more money) and trying to deal with wrangling them on every time I change my sheets. Since I have a HEAVY TempurPedic mattress and a bed frame that makes getting sheets on a chore already, I'm not looking forward to this. I'm very disappointed, as I suspect it means these lovely feeling sheets will end up in the linen closet instead of being my tried and true favorites. :(Also, nowhere on the packaging or the sheets themselves is there any reference to Royal as the company. They are marked as genuine Egyptian cotton, and most of the specs are the same, but they are made by what appears to be a sister company to Royal. Maybe this is why I got sheets with 22'' pockets instead of the 14-18" listed in the description. There was a sticker for Royal stuck over the barcode on the packaging, but that's the only reference to them at all. I don't know if I was sent the wrong set, or if they deem this replacement to be "close enough", but they don't fit so they aren't what I wanted. That's frustrating after I spent $65 on them. I'm seriously considering sending them back for this reason.I wanted to give them 5 stars because the texture is outstanding, particularly for the price. The major discrepancy in size means I can only give 3, sadly.

Great price , quite large and very comfortable

If you want crisp Percale bed linen then this is what you want to buy. I've been buying these sheets for 5 years and I love them. I would recommend replacing them every few years though.

Deep pockets

When it comes to my sheets I am incredibly picky. I don't know how many sheet sets I have that I don't even use. And I finally found the kind of sheets I grew up with. Cotton, crisp and clean feeling (if that's even a thing). These sheets will wrinkle and some might not like the stiffness of them. But I hate soft, slippery, synthetic-feeling sheets and these are great. They stay on too even with my thick mattress and a thick topper. I only wish they came in more colors. I would love a gray set for our guest bedroom. But, hey, white works too so I'll order two more sets for that room when they get some white in queen. And I will slowly phase out my other sheets for our other beds as well.

Very pleased with my sheets. They feel fresh and crisp just like the ones that were hung outside on a line when I was a child. I have tried other brands only to find them thin and not that comfortable. The price was great as well.
