Made the boot clamps perfectly tight.
Used it for replacing an inner CV joint boot on a Porsche Boxster. Worked very well and job looks perfect. Used the “winding-type” strap that gives a great grip. One big hint I would give is to secure the large end of the boot to the mounting ring first. After tightening the strap, bending backwards and tapping the side tabs down, THEN snip the excess length off with the tool tip. Now you will have a long coil of stainless steel around the tool axle. Unwind it and straighten it out. Using the same tool, cut this strip into 1-1 1/2” lengths. The object is to get enough strips to insert halfway into the axle end of the boot to ease it over the groove. You could do the same with a bunch of small flat blade screwdrivers, but using these mini strips make it so easy. Saved me a lot of time and frustration. I am saving these mini strips in my tool kit for the next boot replacement. This one lasted 88,000 miles and the rest look perfect. I will spray them all with Formula 303 to keep them supple and strong. I do that for all rubber parts.

Not the highest quality, but gets the job done.
During a recent CV axle re-boot, I used both the band-clamp tool, and the ear clamp tool. Both were a little chintzy, but got the job done in the end. If I was a professional doing this on a regular basis, I would invest in a better set, but for someone who has only needed to do this a few times in his lifetime, they suffice.

Ok for a weekend warrior mechanic but not a professional every day mechanic.
This tool set will work if someone works on their own stuff but not for a full time mechanic. They aren’t the best quality and they’re kind of sloppy. It worked for what I needed but I’m sure they won’t last for a very long time.

The banding tool came missing parts, I returned it and they sent me a new one that functions.

Might fall apart before using
I haven’t used them yet but I can say I was worried they were going to fall apart in my hands. I’m done with these cheap tools
