Cute, colourful set with lots of variety - built to last!
DUPLO is a brand of Lego aimed at children around two years old. Interestingly, 'DUPLO' was inspired by a Latin word meaning 'double', because the DUPLO bricks are about twice the size of lego bricks (in each direction); making them easier to use and safer for younger children. The Amusement Park Fairground with Train, Carousel & Ferris Wheel is perfectly designed with a child of this age in mind. Opening up the box you are hit with splashes of bright colours and cute faces of model children or model animals.Everything is very easy to put together, but I would certainly advise that an adult is present to help the child through the process. We found that going through the instructions and letting your child know where they should place the brick or horse or roof, etc, was a fun way of getting this done. It was a far, far quicker process than building a lego model and within about 45 minutes we were done.Once everything is built, you will have a train, an arch, a ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, two slides, a food counter and a little table. You also have 8 lego people/animals and a number of accessories such as a camera through to ice creams to chairs. Most of the larger feature pieces have movement; from the train that can be freely pushed around to the ferris wheel that can be spun or the merry-go-round that can be rotated. You even have a flashing rainbow light that sits on the merry-go-round.Like Lego, Duplo isn't cheap, but it's built to last. Not only will this last your child until they grow out of it, if they have a younger brother or sister (or you've a family member expecting) you can put it away for a year or two and pull it out once they're old enough to inherit it. It's also easy to clean.Overall, this is a lovely set that gives your children lots of movement, colour and even a bit of education with having to build and put things back together. Everything looks cute and smiley and the kids we've had playing with it absolutely love it!

Hours of fun with this build
This is such a fun packed duplo set, my 3 year old daughter and I had a brilliant morning constructing and playing together. Designed from children from 2+ we have enjoyed many sets from the Duplo range with our three children, previously we have always tended to build the sets for our children that were at the younger scale of the age range but more recently my 3 year old daughter has taken a real interest in the build itself and gains a lot of joy and also education from doing this aspect. She was able to follow the instructions fairly independently sourcing which bricks she needed, using her knowledge of counting the dots to see how big the piece was she needed and also her knowledge of colours, the frame for the Ferris wheel even looked like a capital A which she recognised. The build itself is fairly straightforward but very rewarding for a budding young Lego fan. There’s enough to stretch and challenge with the 6 play areas, including a slide set, Ferris wheel with light up star, carousel, train, entrance and ice cream/hot dog stand! There are also 7 minifigures included with accessories such as balloons, food items, ice cream smoothie, and a brush to sweep away at the end of the day! We liked looking at the make your own story illustrations which were part of the instruction manuals, giving my daughter inspiration for her own imaginative narrative once the build was complete and she began to play. It is a fairly expensive Duplo set but I feel a very fair price for the quality that Lego always produce and the shear amount that’s included, as well as the batteries for the light up brick. Hours of fun can be had with this set!

Reasonably expensive, but another Lego set to provide younger kids with hours of fun
This amusement park is part of the Lego Duplo range, meaning that all the pieces are significantly larger than standard Lego pieces, making it suitable for younger kids.Included within the set are a variety of different components which would typically make up an amusement park, including slides, a carousel, a model train, a Ferris wheel type ride, along with a typical fairground archway and a few other minor pieces. All of these components require construction and full instructions are provided for this, across four different booklets. For additional interest, the carousel spins around (manually), as does the Ferris wheel, which incidentally, also includes a light at the top, which can be made to change colour (it is battery powered and I'm quite pleased to see that the included batteries are replaceable, but require a screwdriver to do so, minimising the chance of injury). As with all Lego sets, it is guaranteed to provide your kids with hours of fun, not only in constructing the set per the provided instructions but also in operating the amusement park, in whatever way their imagination takes them. This could potentially also extend to using the pieces to construct their own models, again using their imagination. The only downside is that this particular set is quite expensive, at almost £90 at the time of writing. As an adult, I was able to construct the set in less than an hour albeit, I suspect this will be longer for the age of kids which it is aimed at (and after all, I'm still just a big kid). Accordingly, only you can access whether your kids will obtain sufficient pleasure from this set to justify the price but I know that I was very happy to be able to build it!
