From the Musha Series comes this beautifully detailed hand forged Ceremonial "Tachi". Full tang 1045 high carbon steel that is thoroughly hardened with an aesthetic hamon makes this a resilient sword that is razor sharp right out of the box. The fittings are gold and metal grey color made of metal alloy. The real wood Tsuka is wrapped with black synthetic leather. The tsuka handle features faux black samegawa rayskin with detailed metal fuchi and kashira. The scabbard or saya also matches the theme of the tsuka and continues with detailed metal accessories. It is also partially wrapped with black and gold cloth brocade with synthetic fiber and a deluxe cotton black, multi tone sageo. Tachi is often confused with Katana. They are very similar, but not the same. Tachi and katana generally differ in length, degree of curvature, and how they were worn when sheathed, the latter depending on the location of the mei, or signature, on the tang. The tachi style of swords preceded the development of the katana, which was not mentioned by name until near the end of the twelfth century; tachi are known to have been made in the KotÅ period, ranging from 900 to 1596. The Musha Ceremonial Tachi not only is a looker, it was design to be a fully functional sword. You will be surprised with its quality build and functionality. Nice, but one flaw for use...
I really wanted to give this sword 5 stars, I even wanted to give it 4 stars, but I feel that the one flaw leads this sword to 3 stars. Bear with me. I first want to hit on everything good about this sword. One, it fills a niche in the market for Tachi swords. I want a Tachi Sword I can actually practice with because I study a Koryu Budo martial art where we use Tachi. But, it is so difficult to find a decent Tachi that doesn't break the bank. Typically, the options online are $40 junk Tachi that can't be used for training, Tachi with the handle curving the wrong way so they can't be used in training, or Tachi that are over $1,000. I had high hopes for this sword being about $100. And it is very beautiful. It looks great. The blade is much tougher than the usual junk Tachi and there are two Mekugi pins in the handle, so there is actually a tang! The Saya is wood with a plastic covering instead of lacquer, but that's ok because of the price. Also, the handle is fake leather, but again, ok expected because of the price. The Sageo is one complete piece (one of the junk $40 swords one time came as two pieces stitched together so it couldn't be worn or they would tear apart). However, and here is the problem, the hangers for the Sageo, are super thin fake leather and tear from the rivet immediately when worn. The second I put the Tachi on using the correct method of wearing these, one hanger tore, then the second tore right after that. Why make a sword that is so much better than a display piece, yet can't be worn? So, I used black tape to tape the hangers back together, and I had to get creative with the Sageo so that it wraps around the saya twice and takes the weight of the sword, not the hangers, just making them ornamental, but the tape is ugly on them, so they aren't very ornamental because of that. All in all, I'm happy with the sword, but those hangers tearing immediately was a real disappointment.

THE BEST SWORD COMPANY ON AMAZON
Yeah, i think musha is getting too mixed with musashi because this is not just a wall hanger (there the same company )Photo shows i like my katana but specifically from 1sword anything. So took a chance on musashi sister company since i already brought all there musashi. Was not disappointed, especially since they noticed i brought 12 swords and sent me 2 free katanas, who does that? 1sword does.
