Runs out of steam
I’m aware of how this review is titled and anyone who has even glimpsed/read any of the books in this series knows that action-packed is a severe understatement. However I stand by what I wrote, compared to the other books, this story is just falling short. I can’t pinpoint where exactly it is lacking, but I just feel like it wasn’t enough. The story ended and wrapped up quite a few plot lines with a nice and tidy bow, but I felt like there was quite a few things that was unanswered that the book kinda made a production of. The lack of resolution was off-putting.What happened to Noble’s wolf? They made a big production of letting Honor get a new body AND he got to keep the wolf that wasn’t technically his to begin with. So he gets elemental powers, power to shift and a new body to boot.Book 3 and a patroon of the beginning of this book was devoted to the reunification efforts of bringing Shifter Island back to what it once was and we didn’t learn anything about what happened after that last battle? Is it now a democracy? Did the lower mages get to move on to Mage Island are they being allowed to train/attend the Academy? Wasn’t the Jekko kid supposed to be in the dungeons for a month? This book legit couldn’t have been more than 2 weeks after the events in book 2, because it was NON-STOP. What gives? They made a big reveal about the whole Mage/Shift contract but we still didn’t learn the details nor figure out if Rage and Demi got to rehash out a new one.So the brothers were allowed to see the kids first and we only got mention of their grandmother… I nothing of Nai’s dad or what happened to him during/after the battle? Her “besties” one of which is technically her shield. Or her aunt and Donavan? The list of questions that I have is still floating around my head. Like did they ever begin to train new healers after that last attack? Or is the healing elixir pretty much it now? So many questions that seemed integral to the story and now it’s just glossed over like these details weren’t worth revisiting.

Fans of the Stone-Wagner author duo know that their motto is always Go Big or Go Home - and they ALWAYS Go BIG! The fourth, and I believe, the final book in their Shifter Island series will leave fans gasping, laughing, teary-eyed, and head-scratching - like What Just Happened?! Midnight Truth is full of tumultuous villains, unbreakable bonds, and War, War, War! As if navigating what being the Master of Spirit's heir entails isn't fraught with enough pitfalls, Nai and Rage must discover a way to unite their people and subdue the newest scourge threatening Shifter Island and High Mage Island.KrisWhiskey & Wit Book Reviews

Amazing Ending
Midnight Truth is the fourth and final book in the Shifter Island series. What a fantastic ending to the series! I absolutely loved this world that Leia and Raye created.Nai can't take one minute to breath and enjoy her new mate. Rage's coronation ceremony has ended and Nai disappears to high mage island, where she will train and be initiated for the next spirit heir. Rage is not happy, nor likes that they are separated. Of course the other high mages do not want this to happen and try to be the next spirit heir.Together these two will bring everyone together to fight the Blood Mages and traitors. To get their home back, they all need to come together and fight for what is theirs. There was so much action and love. I couldn't wait for Nai and Rage to get their HEA because the so deserved it. I love the brother and the bond they have with each other. We get to see all the side characters return. It was such an emotional ride, with lots of action, love, danger, and magic. This was a fantastic ending to a amazing series, would highly recommend. I'm hoping for a spin off series with the brothers!!I received an ARC for an honest review

Great ending that I didn't want to stop!
Leia & Raye please consider doing a spinoff of this series!!! I want to see what happens next. How they put their 2 worlds back together again? Not to mention if Honor has any new side affects after what happens. I won't mention the other big thing involving the number 4.This book was fantastic! I almost cried when Grandpa died, I'm only mentioning it because we knew he was going to. So many people died from fighting. We knew the mages & shifters were going to come to blows at some point. However, I didn't see one person turning against everyone for a chance to share power. I absolutely loved the way the mages went to school. Talk about homeschooling! It was such a new & fresh idea. I'm totally jealous that they can spirit walk & visit loved ones that have died. The Harvest family is incredible! What those girls do with the possibility of dying is so noble & honorable. I was proud of Julian because he finally did something brave! And in the end Nai leaned a lot in a short amount of time. She really had a great idea on how to defeat the Queen & Princess.

Amazing!!
Well, authors Raye Wagner and Leia Stone did not disappoint in the conclusion of the Shifter Island series. Book four, “Midnight Truth” is an amazing read, full of twists and turns that I did not expect and a very exciting adventure. The character development of Nai in this book is well written and I enjoyed (many times biting my lip in anticipation) her story. It was great to see things from the high mage side of the world, Raye and Leia built for this story. The ending was everything I could hope for with many surprises. I usually can guess events that would happen in stories I read but this one has kept me surprised and hooked. I highly recommend this book and especially the whole series.

Don't bother
This series is pointless, boring, predictable, weak, and not worth the time it took to read. I wouldn't have bothered to leave a negative review though if it hadn't been for the ridiculous last chapter. If you want to avoid spoilers, don't read any further.***SPOILERS BELOW***This girl-child has just become high mage and queen of nearly decimated group of warring factions, and has a thousand years of rule to bed in, and instead of actually focusing on that for even a year or two - or her studies, her new relationship, or even just growing into adulthood herself! - she decides, sure let's have some babies, that'll be 'fun'?! It's beyond idiotic. And all the gendered pink nonsense - like are you actually serious? Honestly, two stars is generous, this book is insulting.

What a finale!
I absolutely loved this book! Nothing has been quite as it seems on Shifter Island. Book 4 follows Nai and Rage as she navigates her time on High Mage Island learning how to be a High Mage of Spirit. There are lots of new things for Nai to learn and she has to cope with being away from her mate. Then there are the blood mages, who have been hiding away for years. What a way to make a return! Finally, the ending! Good luck to the Midnight brothers when the Midnight sisters come of age!

Amazing finale to a wonderful story
Wow! What an amazing final installment! Well done Raye and Leia, this series has kept us all gripped all the way through and I am so sad it is finished! The storyline for Nai and Rage is tied up in a very satisfying way but I could see some potential for some spin off stories for the other midnight brothers??? I just don't want to say goodbye to this world quite yet! Totally recommend these books to everyone but once you start you will not be able to put them down!

Perfect
I don’t use words like perfect often and it’s rare I enjoy an ending that actually feels like an ending. However, perfect is the most fitting description for this series finale. We had the usual heart wrenching worry and the surprising recovery but that final chapter was just so heartwarming to read (and quite relatable, without giving too much away!).Nai has been the ideal leading lady and the Midnight brothers, ideal leading men.

Best ending ever!!!
WOW finally we come to the end of this fantastic series. Lots of highs and lows but eventually comes a HEA. Brilliantly written and I don't want to add any spoilers you will have to read them for yourself but you won't be disappointed I certainly wasn't. Happy reading
