Q: Do these bowls get hot when you warm food in the microwave?

yes somewhat. not quite like a glass bowl. perfect size too. they are made out of a similar material the old tupperware bowls were made of. Hope this is what you needed to know.

Q: When these bowls are placed upside down in the dishwasher do they catch water or are the bowls flat?

They do catch a *tiny* bit of water on that underside - they are not completely flat - they have a very slight curve then are flat til they get to the other side and slightly curve again. (However, with that said, don't be disappointed by my answer and decide not to get these bowls because I love them so much and the tiny bit of water they catch is super insignificant compared to how great the bowls are. They are very sturdy/thick - they seem fully break-proof. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. They are a perfect, large shape - we like *big* bowls of soup and cereal in our home. I am so glad I bought these for my kiddos and would highly recommend them.)

Q: Can you buy lids for these

I did a lot of searching and never found lids. These are really good bowls.
