Nice, but not as good as other brands I’ve tried
Fajitas are a once-a-week type dinner in our house; it’s a firm family favourite, especially with our teenage girls, so I was very keen to try a new brand of fajita mix (our regular is Santa Maria), just for a change. Cooking the mix with strips of chicken thigh and some red and yellow peppers, I found it as easy to use and prepare as any other fajita mix and the cooking odours were very tantalising.Sadly, when it came to the actual eating, I found the actual taste of the the mixture pleasant enough, but a little underwhelming. It was certainly mild enough for the whole family to enjoy (not all of my family members like spicy food as much as I do, which is why I tend to jazz my fajitas up with jalapeños), but I found the subtle, smoky flavour a little bit disappointing and it was easily overwhelmed by the other ingredients. I will definitely use the remaining packets I have, but will be looking forward to going back to our regular fajita mix afterwards. To surmise: pleasant, but a little too mild flavoured for my liking. The whole family also agreed that their regular brand was preferable.

Tasty with a bit of a kick
I didn't have any fixings for fajitas so ended up trying a sachet of this in mince, which gave it a chilli con carne type flavour but I hadn't added any kidney beans.I don't have a high tolerance for spice so this was tasty without being over the top strong, I'm glad I only used one sachet for quite a large pack of mince as it did give it a bit of heat. I would use it again but maybe add the beans the next time.It is probably a bit pricey at the current price at time of review for 5 sachets - £6, one of the selling points is that it is suitable for vegans but it's a pack of spices so wouldn't expect it to have any animal products in it - I did check an Old El Paso pack for comparison, but couldn't see any mention of vegan credentials.I would say it is a versatile spice mix, as you can use it for more than just fajitas, and it does really add flavour to the food.

Really great tasting seasoning
First impression of these were good, I know the brand and the packets are well sealed but easy to open. Inside the mixture smells reasonably strong and spicy. Following the instructions I’ve sprinkled it over my food whilst cooking and found it stirs in nicely. As I’m a veggie I got better results by adding a bit of water, which really helped the mix to soak into the meat alternative. Taste wise it creates a spicy but complex rich hearty flavour with a fruity hint. It’s really lives up to being Latin and is very reminiscent of the chipotle spice and is probably the best packet mix I’ve ever used!Overall I’ve really enjoying cooking with these and would definitely buy them again. They’re so easy to work with and always give great results.

Tasty fajita seasoning
Chicken fajitas is one of my kitchen staples because it's very tasty and also very quick and easy to cook. I normally get heat from red chillies, paprika, smoked paprika and cumin. This seasoning mix is a tasty and easier alternative. The instructions do say to coat the chicken before adding it to the pan, but I tossed it direct into the pan after the chicken had been coated with hot oil, allowing it to stick to the chicken as it cooked. Squeezing a lime over the pan after the peppers and onions are added ensures the seasoning coats everything. One sachet of this added a good, tasty heat to my chicken fajitas consisting of 2 chicken breasts, 3 red chillies, 2 red peppers, 1 green pepper, two medium red onions and the juice from one lime.
