HHIP 3900-0504 MT4 ER-40 Spring Collet Chuck Set, 17-Piece

The case isn't as pictured and is pretty cheap-looking. But it's working out for me okay. I'm getting good runout readings after fidgeting with it a bit. It's not so bad.

From the packaging to the compartment box to the individual pieces this is a well-made product. All surfaces are ground to a 60 finish with only .0015 runout TIR. We are going to order the R-8 model for the mill. Great job HHIP!

I have had this set for 6 months now and I couldn't be happier with the performance ! This collet chuck and collets have been completely problem free. Run out was only .0001 which was less than advertised . Very happy with this set for the money. will buy again. someone commented that the ring in the collet was poorly machined , But what they didn't realize is its supposed to be off centered to lock into the collet ! Guess you shouldn't comment unless you know what your talking about !

For the price of this set, I expected to receive a substantial, good quality case but I did not and I am disappointed. The latches won't latch. The case is flimsy. The actual product seems to be OK; however, I am still in the process of checking for run-out. I have noticed that the spanner wrench does not fit well.

Very happy with this set so far. I started out with this set for my HF mini mill. The only complaint I had was it didn't come with 3/4", so I had to buy that separately. I paid under $100 for the chuck holder and collets. Fit and finish was/is good. I have since received my ER20 chuck and collet sets from across the ocean, and these smaller collets work just as well and give me more visibility for my projects, so I am using ER20 almost exclusively now, but I like the idea of being able to go up to 3/4" if I need to, whereas the ER20 ends at 1/2" capacity.

The nut needed some work in the lathe to work at all, and the wrench worked a lot better after truing up in the mill, but am pleased now. For the money, a great tool.

This didn't include a 3/4" inch collet which happened to be one of my most needed size. Bought separately and no big deal.

Very nice set and fit well. These make useing the mI'll so much easier and so much less risk of stripping the quill bolt that holds it in. I allways was extra cautious when doing this before, but with this beauty those worries are a think of the past.

Just got it today and it looks great. Haven’t tried it out in the mill yet but will update if any issues. Also all the guys saying how terrible the machining is on the collet nut as it’s so far off center, it’s supposed to be like that so there’s a lip to grab the collet and pull it back out to free the taper.Been using this set for a while now and have had zero issues. Works great. Again the collet nut is not machined incorrectly. It does exactly what it’s supposed to.

Did not use the set but it seemed to be good quality. Listing states it’s a NMTB40 taper but is in fact a NMTB30 taper. Checked the the part number with the manufactures website and is indeed a NMTB30 taper set.

Overall decent quality but when I went to use it the collets would not fit. The final machining of the taper on the tool holder hadn't been done. I ended up machining it myself to make it work.

Please note in description: With fitted case. Accuracy to.0005". What a crock!!! the chuck ring is so badly machined that the collet's wobble making this kit useless. I am really disappointed in the accusation of accuracy as no one has looked at this item before shipping!
