SUCH A GOOD GIRL: An urgently timely gripping mystery with a heartbreaking twist (Eva Rae Thomas FBI Mystery Book 9)

A truly riveting story!
Former FBI profiler and single mother Eva Rae Thomas repeatedly has to choose between bringing criminals to justice and attending to her family’s needs, especially hard now, with a four-month-old daughter. This time, a young girl plunges to her death from a high-rise balcony; the man that police saw on the balcony, a wealthy, well-connected man, Richard Wanton, says she jumped. A witness in an adjacent room contacts the FBI to say the girl was pushed, so Richard is charged with murder, but the police have a hard time breaking his story. Even though Richard has a history of women accusing him of sexual harassment and even rape, he has always gotten off scot-free, by using his connections and intimidating the victims. The FBI’s witness happens to be Kimmie, the woman who broke up Eva Rae’s marriage years ago, but she only trusts Eva Rae to tell her story. Eva Rae has strong misgivings about getting involved, but her daughter is still good friends with Kimmie’s son and pressures her to take the case. Kimmie and her son are placed in a safe house for protection before the trail begins, but it is compromised, with the agents being killed, and Kimmie and her son barely escaping. Eva Rae sees inconsistencies and decides to take personal responsibility to safeguard them from Richard’s goons who are out to kill them. This is another great twisting, turning plot by Ms. Rose. It kept me riveted to the story, right through the trademark final surprise that I couldn’t see coming. The fact that this story is based on her own Me-Too experience makes me appreciate her courage to stand up to those who harassed her. I sincerely pray that those involved are eventually made to pay dearly for their crimes. I received an ARC – this review is my honest opinion - I bought a copy to support this great author. I am eager to read more of her work.

Great Story!
The author spins a wonderful story that keeps the reader entertained until the end. My only negative comment is I wish the author would find a new way of expressing repeated actions. Such as, “She felt a pinch in her stomach. “ “Squeezed the bridge of her nose. “ “She bit the inside of her cheek.” All characters would not have the same thoughts or mannerisms. It gets OLD! Please come up with a new way to say the same things. The author is good with words. “Am I right?”

A Mind Gripping Story
A Mind Gripping StorySuch a Good Girl by Willow Rose is a fast-paced, intelligent and exciting well written novel. The moment you begin to read this novel, it grips you and make you want more. For me, it’s a page-turner. The novel takes a different approach to the theme of crime, murder, and rape. The novel exposes the crime of the wealthy and high-profile men in the society against women. The story takes FBI profiler, Eva Rae Thomas, on one of the most endearing journeys of her life. The story takes a twist when Eva is called upon to interview her arch-nemesis Kimmie and her son who later became the target of stalkers who fired at them. Such a Good Girls is indeed a book to add to your collection.

I'm not reading her anymore
I am so tired of her selfishness. She's so busy saving everyone else's lives at the expense of the people who love her. Don't give me that song and dance about double standards either. If she were a man her dedication would be accepted. I have family members who are like her. They are more about other people than their loved ones that are right in front of them begging for attention. I had a really hard time finishing this book because she made me so angry. She has four children at home and a man who loves her but she doesn't even have time to go to a school conference for her son. Yay her, she once again saves the day but for what purpose? To boost her ego and her self esteem? Nope, not reading her anymore. I feel sorry for Matt and her children. They certainly did win the mom pool.

very good writing
I found the descriptions of deep emotional turmoil to be so real and effective. I was moved by the fears and feelings of shame. The mental anguish that drove Rachel to attempt suicide was written with such clarity and authentic emotions. The Afterword by the author, Willow, made me realise that this was a real experience for her, that she lived through those self-doubts and had to put them in writing. I take this opportunity to thank her for being strong and encourage her and others who have had such experiences to stop being afraid, stop hating yourself and try and seek justice. This book involves multiple characters that all cumulate into having their day in court. Sometimes I found the transitioning between story-lines to be unsettling but the essence of the plot made up for that. It is a fast-paced story which involves a strong-willed FBI agent, Eva Rae, who pursues the case relentlessly. Eva Rae has to overcome very personal issues to fulfil her duty while also facing physical danger. The story was well-written and very relevant.

A riveting tale of how corrupt humans can be
The Me Too movement brought forward into the spotlight some ugliness. This book details the really dirty secrets and lengths people will go to. It really is disturbing. The misused power of people In charge and the ability to manipulate lives and careers is unforgiving. The mental anguish and deterioration of self worth is the worst. An emotional story but an incredible one regarding the journey of understanding, accepting and moving forward. Do not give any more value to the transgressions of evil.

Terrific Read
One of Willow Rose's best yet. Started to read this book this morning & I couldn't put it down...my husband had to make his own dinner & I just finished it. This was one book I just had to find out what happened - I couldn't wait til tomorrow.I've read all of the Eva Rae Thomas mysteries & thoroughly enjoyed each & everyone of them but this one to me had just had that something extra.

Eva Thomas Saint or sinner?
Started reading these books as entertainment but by the end they were much more than that. The lead character is frustrating, brsve, caring for everyone but her own relationships. Tough, mived up, muddled, and generally a self destructive survivor. A complex exasperating mixture of everything thst makes a human being. After reading this one it turns out the author is as brave and complex. It has veen a privilege to read these books and I will follow her other series with ad much alacrity.

This story seemed like a quick read but maybe I just couldn't put it down? This is a fast paced story that keeps you wondering if the hired killers were going to be stopped.

..
This was a touchy one.. deals with rape and abuse, but I think the storyline definitely dealt justice. As with all of Willow Rose’s books, the multiple points of view here get all twisted around until the ending. And I didn’t not expect an ending like that. All of the women in this book are brave for being able to come forward against these horrendous men. The fact that this does actually happen in real life it atrocious! This was a well thought out mystery, with some parts based off the author’s own experiences. It could not have been easy to write about.
