Rothco Boonie Hat

The hat is fine but I've only worn it a couple of times since I bought it a couple of years ago. I've been to deserts & rain forests all over the world & despite what the guide books say I prefer my baseball cap to something like this.

It's comfortable, and seems to be the right sized brim to balance style and shade from sun. It mostly keeps the sun off my face, neck and ears, which is what I wanted. I have a larger brimmed hat for full sun shade, but it doesn't look nearly as good.

Seller is great. Hat is goodI actually prefer the squaregarden boon hat to this one. But I think this is a good hat and a good value. It’s nice that you can select a size rather than just hope one size fits none with work for you.

Great boone hat, its nice and soft so you can roll up and put in pocket. I have a xl large head but ordered the big 7 3/4 inch boone so I could fit a warming cap on underneath. Its just loose enough to put on over thin winter cap, great find.

The folks at work are teasing me because I wear it all the time now. My wife has one now too but she wove a pink ribbon around the hat so it would look more feminine.It does rain in Oregon so I applied some water proofing. Won't do much when it's bucketing but it's great most of the time.I have a little trouble with sun damage to the skin on my ears so I expect these hats will help protect and I think they'll be cool enough this summer.

I really like this boonie hat. I had one I wore for years while backpacking. It keeps the sun from burning your ears,neck,and face. Another great thing about it is, if you are really hot you can put it in the creek and get it soak and wet. If will keep your head cool for a bit, and doing this won't ruin the hat at all. The last one I owned I bought it from an army surplus store. I had no complaints about it, I just lost it. This one seems to be a lot better quality. The price is great, and the quality is even better.

This hat is just so so. its a tad on the floppy side. I ordered a 7 1/2 as I wear normally a 7 3/8. It fits fine just a bit loose but not by much. Unfortunately it came with a 1 inch razor cut on the crown. I will end up keeping it anyway. I ordered at the same time the Tru spec military boonie in a size 7 1/2 and I like the Tru Spec much better. See my review there.

Had easily become my husband's favorite hat. He bought it for himself for work to keep the sun off his head. He likes it so much, he saves it for camping instead. Light weight, keeps his head cool.

Just got it today.fits like a glove and is very well made and very much worth the price.i will highly recommend and will be a repeat customer.plus the seller is very quick to respond and very willing to help if a problem arises.

I had bought the sand color version years ago but this black version is so much better fabric: sturdy and solid, will take a beating and then some !
