The spikes are plastic so we used glue to adhere them to our painted wood surface. Glue is so much easier and safer than nails or screws - I was afraid that I would piece my hand with the spikes if I used nails or screws. They also look much better than the metal spikes which I think are menacing looking. It's been a couple months and they have kept the birds away. I would buy again.

I think the birds like this product. Waste of money. Try chicken wire instead

Easy to install (we used double sided tape) and have seemed to work great to deter the birds that were roosting under our awning.

I have a problem with sparrows roosting at night under the lean-to of my pole barn. I am very diligent in removing any nests but they still keep coming back at night to sleep. I installed this product and while it greatly reduced the amount of birds roosting I still had 3 or 4 sleeping on top of the spikes! Normally there's about 10 to 12 sleeping on a very small 2 inch lip. So yes, the product does work but I can't honestly say the problem was completely eliminated! Very easy to install as I used 1 1/4 inch decking screws. The plastic is pretty durable and the dark brown color blends nicely. So ultimately I give this product a 3 out of 5 stars.

Love that the spikes are shorter so it doesn't look too unattractive like a dock out of Game of Thrones. Ducks will not land on rails. Birds without webbed feet still try but far less often. We installed them with brown long commercial strip ties so they can be easily removed when we want to. Great product for us. Oh they wont prevent iguanas. They still lay right on the spikes.

Been fighting with birds building nests inside the lip of my porch it was a mess and a fight every year I put Aluminum foil everything up there to stop the building but nothing worked until I found these no more fighting
