They will make the hole, but with any spade bit be prepared to pay the price. Go easy and they do fine, push them and you will understand why you shouldn't.

Works for the task
Used it to make a cable pass through hole. Had to go from 3/4” to 1”. The 1” one did a lot of tearing unfortunately
