Wasn’t nearly as good as I thought it would be…
You know when you read the book blurb and it sounds like it could be a terrific read? It really is the pits when the blurb is better than the book! The storyline was really convoluted; the characters were weak all the way around; the plot twists and turns were a waste of time; and the HEA was basically meh—not good, not bad. Read this one at u you our risk. I don’t plan on reading any more. 🥲

She also realizes that her new life here in the small Maine town is perfect to heal old wounds
Interesting story where a young woman realizes the life she is living doesn't fulfill her, so she quits her job, leaves her boyfriend of seven years and travels to her family summer house that has been left empty for over twenty years. The story continues with her trials of making numerous mistakes and has to has others rescue her from a snowstorm, no power in the home, and a massive storm later on. She learns to rely on others as she slowly makes friends with the townspeople. She also realizes that her new life here in the small Maine town is perfect to heal old wounds. Memories of a tragic childhood accident is revealed through her process of repairing and restoring the old home. She also learns to love again when the home's caretaker not only helps care for the home but for her also.A quick read that is entertaining. Some of the actual situations don't always make sense because the author leaves out some specific details. How a car starts after seven years of being stored, how she is able to drive all day without stopping, how she knows how to get to the summer home when she hasn't been there for over twenty years and at that time was just a teenager. If the author would fill in some of these details, I think the book would get five starts.

Good story
For Now and For Ever is a relationship story about a house, a girl named Emily, the caretaker Daniel and the town's people in Maine. The story will keep the readers' interest as there are many characters with different personalities. It also shows how supportive a small community can be to each other.

Now and Forever
If you want a book about healing the past and looking forward to the future then this is a book you must read. Ms. Love does an excellent job of blending the two into an entertaining, tear-jerking whole.

An Easy Read
Needed a book for sitting at the beach and reading. This was a perfect choice. Kept me turning the pages and was an easy read. The only problem I had with the book was with Emily's parents. The author should have given you some clue as to what became of Emily's father after he abandoned his family after the death of her sister. Also, I found Emily's mother to be unbelievable. How could her mother not have realized that Emily, being an innocent child and extremely close to her little sister, had been totally traumatized by her sister's death to the point of blocking out what had really happened and spent her yrs. after her sister's death falsely thinking she was to blame for the accident? Also, the way that Emily finds her father's letter explaining that she wasn't to blame for the accident was far fetched. Did he actually expect her to ever find the letter? Double keys needed and she had to figure out a combination to a safe in order to get to the letter? Did he really ever want Emily to find the letter, or did he just write it to rid himself of some of the guilty for her sister's death? I found flaws with the author's writing on these portions of the book.

Emily and Daniel
I loved the towns people. I chose this rating because the story had romance, love and an interesting background! I would recommend it to anyone who loves a happy ending!

Ms. Love needs a new editor--too many holes
From my Facebook post: That moment you start getting into a new library book, but keep running into oddities in the writing, e.g. things that simply don't make sense. This is a book I got for free on Bookbub, and am reading with the free Kindle app. It's called For Now and Forever by Sophie Love. The premise of it is what hooked me, but the more I read, the more I wonder!!This girl leaves NY and drives her clunker car to Maine, in Feb. She had dumped her boyfriend and quit her job, filled a suitcase that we're supposed to believe holds all her stuff from living with a guy for 7 years (who would only have one suitcase full of stuff?!?) and had thrown her suit jacket and shoes out the window along the way.It was supposedly an 8 hour drive, but she never stopped for gas or food. ?!? Then, it starts snowing just as she arrives in the town in Maine around midnight, and her car dies. She has no shoes on her feet, even though she packed some in the suitcase, no coat, sweater, anything besides the blouse she had worn to work that day, and steps out of the car to try to figure out what happened. ?!?!It says she walked around the *trunk* to look at the engine. ?!?!? Someone pulls up in a truck and tows her car to the old house she lived in as a child, but she hasn't been back in 20 years, and the place is really run down. She goes in--without having to unlock the front door? Has no flashlight, candle or anything else, but starts walking around in the house. Barefooted. In the middle of the night. While it's snowing outside and this house has not been lived in for 2 decades. Yeah. So much of this crazy story is just not making sense!!!It just gets stranger. She hasn't eaten anything, there's no food in the house, there's no water or electricity, and yet the caretaker comes to investigate, starts a fire, brings her a lantern, and somehow she decides to go upstairs to sleep in her parents old room...what does she do for a bathroom? I mean, this writer mentions that there's no water...and that the girl doesn't want to see what has taken up residence in the bathroom in the shape of creepy crawlies. So we're supposed to believe that she's been on the road for 8 hours, and is going to go to bed without benefit of a loo or even a drink of water. OhKayyyyy...Next morning, she puts on a pair of sneakers to go outside to shovel a path through the 3 feet of snow that fell overnight. Before that, she was still walking around in the house, barefooted.... She pulls a board off of a window and manages to break the glass and fall on the floor, but somehow doesn't cut her bare feet on the glass.Further on: Oh, it just got better (haha)-- the aforementioned suit coat that was tossed out the window with the shoes has suddenly reappeared as the only thing resembling a coat that she has. She just packed up her stuff from her place in NY. Who in NY doesn't have a coat?!And why on earth has she not immediately ascertained how it is that the house has had a caretaker for 20 years?!? Who hired/appointed him and why? Who is this guy? Obviously she doesn't make the best choices in men, but seriously...And why hasn't she searched for info on her father, since she clearly knows how to use the internet?I only stuck with this book to find out what happened to her father, since I am looking for my own, and don't even have a name yet, but this left me with too many questions. I cannot make myself read the sequel to see if any of these holes ever get filled, and the contradictions end.

Great read
This story grabs your attention with the first chapter and kept me in suspense with what happens next. Loved every character, the setting and the ending is perfect.

Not bad
This wasn’t a bad read but it wasn’t great. The plot was sound enough and Emily was an interesting character. Daniel also showed depth and was interesting. I felt Emily did seem rash in a lot of her decisions and came across as a bit stuck up. A lot of the supporting characters seemed to be changeable and a little odd.It did seem to be in need of a fresh edit too but otherwise this was an enjoyable enough read.

For Now and Forever (The.Inn at.Sunset Harbor.- Book 1) by Sophie Love.
An enchanting story with lots.of mystèries to unravel and disjointed childhood's to smooth out after leaving New York being in a deadend job, Emily decides to flee to Sunset Harbor in Maine and sets about restoring her father's house with the help of Daniel who lives in thé carriage house on the property as a caretaker with free rent. Lots of mysteries ensue of her father's missing whereabouts and finding evidence of his pastlife. After a few hiccups with thé locale, they all want to help her open her B and B to help the economy of thé town excepté her sourpuss of à neighbour who wants her to sell the house to him, as she owes back taxes and he knows she can't afford to pay it at present, so he makes it more difficult by browbeating her with petty clauses. You just have to admire this plucky young woman's drive especially as Emily has found à letter by her father giving the house to her and bypassing his ex wife of which, she was not happy about and leaves in disgust and who has not been much of à mother to Emily anyway. This series is turning out to be à really good one, with so many twist and turns, it has all the ingredients that à reader likes to get their teeth into and really van't put down until it's finished and on to the next book in this wonderful séries.

Nice clean romance, but...
This is my first book by Sophie Love, & although it’s a contemporary romance book, it is a clean read - so refreshing! I did enjoy the book, but I didn’t really like Emily: I felt she was a little immature for her age (35yrs). However I did like Daniel. Parts of the book were unrealistic, others predictable. It was well written & edited so full marks to the writer & editor. This is the first book in a series, and although it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, it’s a “happy for now” ending with lots of promise for the future.Emily splits up with her long term boyfriend when she realises that he’s not proposing to her. She packs in her job, chucks her stuff in a suitcase & picks up her old car, which she’s not driven in years as her boyfriend preferred to drive them in his Lexus. Surprisingly her car starts first time. She drives 8(?) hours to Maine, without stopping for food or a break to get to her dad’s old house, which has been abandoned for 20yrs, so no gas or electricity (ie no heating or power). Everything’s covered in dust, but she climbs into bed & doesn’t have a fit of sneezes. Furthermore, after such a long time without food, she doesn’t feel shaky, dizzy or faint the next morning, but manages to do some cleaning/ exploring.Daniel lives in the “carriage house” on the property, as the caretaker. He helps Emily on her first night by lighting a small fire in the living room & draining the pipes. He sounds quite dreamy & hunky, but she isn’t interested in him. He’s quiet & hard working, content on fixing up the house with her. He doesn’t seem to have another job, but has enough income to spend on the essential bills. Both main characters have had troubled childhoods. Her father’s house in Maine brings back sad memories for her with her sister’s death & her father’s disappearance. For Daniel, the house, or rather, her father holds better memories. However, their love for the house is what bonds the two together... is it enough?I downloaded both this & the next book for free when they came up on Bookbub. Hopefully book 2 will be a bit more realistic & Emily will act more her age!

A turn for the better.
Emily had reached a turning point. Her expectations with her boyfriend and her job had turned to dust. She returned to Sunset Harbour to try and relive the good memories of her childhood to lick her wounds.

Immature lead character…
who was annoyingly tepid in most situations. This was not a good read but stuttered along. It felt like the author was trying to tell an emotional journey that was taken by the main character but failed because the author either didn’t have the emotional maturity herself to write about it or just failed to convey convincingly anything other than a girl who was immature and just needed to grow up.
