Reborn: Shadow Beast Shifters, Book 3

Epic finale!
What an incredible adventure! From the beginning to end, the Shadow Beast trilogy has been a spellbinding magical thrill ride, an epic story with a breathtaking and emotional romance at its center and a magnificent heroine on the path to liberating self-actualization. I swooned, I laughed, and I shed tears of joy and pain as this fantastical crew of unlikely friends fight to restore the balance, to find their way back to each other, and to save the world and each other. Love, loss, heroism, and sacrifice- our final book in this quest lays everything on the line. Does it get anymore epic than that? While this series is called Shadow Beast Shifters, this series, this world, is truly Mera’s. And my goodness, what a heroine. By far the most compelling heroine Jaymin Eve has ever scribed- which is saying a lot given all the powerful women she has in her arsenal. This is character writing at it’s finest- the way Jaymin has evolved this broken and lonely outsider and transformed her into a formidable leader. But Jaymin never changes the fabric of who Mera is- she’s still the quirky, feisty survivor we met back in Torma. The same curious, resilient, big hearted rejected mate we grew to love. Jaymin doesn’t change the core of her- rather she let’s Mera mature into herself, lean into the strengths and power and core of herself that she’s always possessed but never had the support or love to fully manifest. Jaymin doesn't change her- she UNLEASHES her, she lets her be reborn as her fullest self- the unrestrained, unstoppable, unforgettable Mera. The Mera whose uniqueness shines rather than isolates, a Mera who is the center rather than the reject. And what a site it is to behold.Of course, we also have our quirky and enchanting cast of characters surrounding this journey. This unlikely team of creatures that are united by an unbreakable familial bond. And, we have the swooniest version of Shadow Beast yet, he's oozing his love for Mera and yearning for her. Mera’s new pack gives such a rich and tender nuance to this story- it gives us moments of levity and calm, of heartbreak and pain, of vulnerability and strength. Amidst the heart pounding fantasy and action, this family gives us heart and soul- the quiet, gentle, slow, but powerful notes in the doomsday symphony surrounding them. That cliffhanger in Reclaimed was devastating, and Jaymin does not make it easy, or quick, for Mera and her friends to right the changes thrust upon them. But love- LOVE can not be denied. The love of her Shadow, the love of her friends, the love of her true pack. And that is what I love most about this series- how it comes full circle. Mera begins as an outsider in her own family, rejected, packless within her own pack, the thorn in their side. And over the course of this story, she finds her TRUE pack, no longer the outsider, no longer rejected, because Mera is the heart of her chosen family, she’s the center. And somehow the character who only wanted to be loved and to matter finds her way to a family that doesn’t just CHOOSE her, doesn’t just claim her, but they fight for her. The rejected wolf who was all alone makes a final stand surrounded by friends, by LOVE.Jaymin Eve sure can weave a tale- the world building, the magic, the twists, the world-is-ending drama that all knit together to highlight the true essence of this story- LOVE. Love of all kinds- a love that empowers self, a love that inspires, a love that can perhaps even save you, that perhaps can save the world. “Right or wrong, you and I exist together….or we don’t exist at all.” And that is the greatest, most profound adventure of all- finding a love that speaks to the essence of your soul. A love that can somehow make you more human while also making you superhuman.Shadow Beast Shifters is paranormal, romantic fantasy at it’s finest- because LOVE and connection, what make us the most human, the most vulnerable, end up being the most powerful magic of all. My heart is so fool- ALL THE FEELS for this heart stopping finale!

Love this series
I have devoured the first 3 books of this series and am getting ready to start the spin-off books. I absolutely loved Mera, finally a strong, take no prisoners, female in a shifter series. The story line is fantastic, I laughed out loud multiple times at Mera's conversations... she is absolutely the best.

Excellent
The second book is the best and it ties up a lot of the storyline. The series does continue with different characters and I'm going to start the next book tomorrow. Enjoy

I'm in love with this series. I want more! The ending was beautiful. Such a good read. I'm excited to read about Angel next.

Great storyline
Loved the storyline, though I did feel a developmental edit could have helped connect the story better. Also in the context of ejaculate cum is spelled cum not come. I don't usually get petty about grammar issues, but that irritated me. Otherwise sexy times were well placed amidst the story even if certain elements of the story could have been better developed.

Kick A** Series...
Wow, the cliffy from the previous book set up Reborn as an epic conclusion to Mera and Shadow's story. I seriously could not wait to jump right in. Who needed sleep anyway...Leaving off from Reclaimed had my heart in my mouth, I didn't see that ending coming and so one click later I was once again thrown into this amazing world and I couldn't get enough of this story and these characters and not just the main characters either.Mera was wholeheartedly the most bad a** female lead I have read for a while. Yes sometimes it was a bit OTT but then hey why not. Her inner monologue had me in stitches the whole way through this series and this book was no different. It was nice to see her finally accepting the situation with Shadow which she so richly deserved after her sad and difficult up bringing.I enjoyed reading Shadow and his journey over the last couple of books. His possessiveness was a turn on for me. I think it would have been really great to have read a bit more from him throughout the last couple of books as I feel having multiple POV's takes stories to a whole new level and I think it would have taken this amazing book even higher than it already was for me.The relationships that have been created over this series, which there were so many, and I loved them all so much as they were different but still so important to this whole series. The mutual respect for all the God's from the different realms were just amazing additions. Even Inky and Midnight...Thoroughly enjoyed Mera's journey and to find her at the place towards the end and how powerful she was always meant to be was mind blowing and so enjoyable. I loved how her and Shadow were together when they went back to the pack and dealt with them all.I loved so much about this series. For me, it was a breath of fresh air to read. To be blown away by a story line and characters that just grabbed me and had me teethered to my kindle for the length of time it took me to read the 3 books in quick succession. This was my first exposure to this Author and I have to say I will be checking out the other series she has written. If they are anything like this series, I should imagine I will be immersed for a while.

Halfway through
Halfway through, and I just couldn't anymore. No idea what happened since the first book (5* storyline).Sooo much potential, yet the 'heroine' turned out to be another overdone grump with overflowing magnetism to all; though can't pinpoint where this apparent force came from.I understand that it's meant to be a tad smutty... Unfortunately, it seemed to me shoved in every sentence within the heroine's dialogue (perhaps trying to portray a 'cool feminist' [if ever there was an oxymoron], and completely losing the femininity.Apologies for the rant, I understand that this type of 'personality' sells - apparent in every single 'erotic' ebook. The first book gave me a twinge of hope. Silly me.

What happened???
I honestly cant believe this was written by the same author as the first two books. Im stunned to be honest, this was painful to get through. The first 30% was just filler and i hate the whole memory stolen and journey to retrieve content. The next 30% was a devolved version of the FMC being just constantly horny and couldnt even do basic tasks without 'shadow so sexy...oh shadow....too bad we have to save the world or i may just have sex for the 50th time in as many pages'. It was exhausting and for the first time in my reading journey of 20+years i found myself skipping pages as everything was so repetitive and redundant. The story wasnt even pushed forward until about 70%. I am beyond disappointed as this was the first series i read by this recommended author by readers who enjoy Tate James, Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Needless to say i will not be reading any more by this author

Shadow Beast trilogy review
Told from Meras POV, rejected by her true wolf mate but reclaimed by something other. I really don't think this is the best work from Jaymin. I usually love the books she writes. But the main character wasn't likeable at all. She was childish and cocky. She had a continuous smart mouth and not the likeable type but the one that really gets on your nerves. I just didn't gel with her at all. The shadow beast was also difficult to like with his hot and cold behaviour, temper and possessive nature. The sex and the continual sex talk was just ridiculous and actually took up lots of pages of trash which I just skipped. Such a shame as the storyline and world building was great. Such a shame.

A fantastic ending to a must read series
A great ending to what has been a brilliant and must read series. The story for Mera & Shadow is rounded off perfectly, however it's not the end for the world this series is set in as the author will be writing some spin off books for other characters, which I'm looking forward to reading. Both of the other two books have been five star reads for me and this one is no different as I loved it. As I've said this is a must read series which I highly recommend.
